Great stuff Dr Phil. I remember from another video you said that we raise adults not children. Although my kids were already in college and it was too late to receive that take home message, it made 100% sense and I wish I had learned that lesson sooner. It takes wisdom, intelligence, experience, as well as generosity since i didnt pay you a penny for that wisdom, to nutshell an entire book's worth of advice like that on KZbin and not on subscription. Of course your TV series has an element of entertainment in it. That's what works in the television market. I think your critics don't understand the nature of show business -- they don't know that a show requires both drama and characters. I don't watch much TV but i always liked your shows. I didn't agree with the episode on bipolar disorder as i believe the psychiatric profession doesn't understand mental illnesses are spiritual problems not brain problems. I look forward to more of your gold nuggets of wisdom. Thank you again.

When you are moved by the Spirit you manifest love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These are the weapons we use in battle. Against such things there is no law.

Christians are against effort. But everything requires effort. Even your faith is effort of the mind/spirit.
@dalelerette206

@@toadpossum6668 You seem to be using a wide brush because there are many kinds of Christians. Christians of Franciscan Schools of Thought embrace effort. The gift of wisdom corresponds to the virtue of charity. The gift of understanding corresponds to the virtue of faith. The gift of counsel (right judgement) corresponds to the virtue of prudence. The gift of courage corresponds to the virtue of fortitude. The gift of knowledge corresponds to the virtue of hope. The gift of Reverance corresponds to the virtue of justice. The gift of Wonder and Awe corresponds to the virtue of temperance. If you are suggesting there is no mind/spirit effort in this faith, then I suspect you are not understanding my words. Many modern interpretations of Christianity appear to have the efficacy of Nietzschean struggle to power. Nietzschean philosophy really doesn't have much to do with the Roman Catholic Church, although some 'catholic radicals' would claim otherwise. Not all things can be defined as a Will to Power. Have you considered The Watchmen?

Dr. Phil, I think on all your podcasts, you’re talking about my situation especially when you started talking about personality disorders. I’ve been married to a man since 2011 who claims he’s Christian. He’s been showing signs of NPD with psychopathy. He was a porn addict for a long time (he told me he is not anymore which I don’t believe). He never wanted to get intimate with me eversince. I’ve been on a sexless marriage. It’s takes me a lot of courage to ask him for intimacy. He’s very manipulative, very sneaky/secretive. He’s betrayed me many many times, he’s went around and ruined my reputation to people and blames me why he’s rejecting me in intimacy because it’s my fault. He’s filed ex parte on me 2021 for domestic violence and child abuse right after I moved out of our marital home. He gaslights me all the time. I have sought many Christian friends and counselors but they’re all believing him that I’m crazy. I have lost my faith in humanity and everyday I try to fight it because I know there’s still a lot of people out there. I know my husband is finding failts/loopholes in me again how to destroy me. I really hope I can talk to you or atleast exchange messages. Thank you and more power to you!!

I spent a lot of time with people in my life with NPD. I did not know what it was until the narc ex who I was married to for 33 years decided to pour gasoline on his family and light a match and leave the day after Christmas in a injured narcissistic rage. This was right after giving us all Covid. He also had many different kinds of addictions because if it was just alcohol, he would be dead by now. I never thought a person (husband) so covert and deceitful would ever do that. I never thought a man like my ex would hurt me and be the biggest liar, out of anyone in the world, he lied to me the most, what for? Before the end, I also never could fathom, he had sabotaged my parenting and my friendships and relationships where I slowly became isolated. When he finally discarded me, and wanted to have an "open" marriage where he could control me, I filed. I saved myself and my two teens from financial destruction which would be the narc ex's final blow. With a good lawyer, I got what I deserved under the law. I have listened to all of them. Hario Overdatop, Dr. Romani, Dr. Carter, Lisa Romano, The Royal We, and more and more. Dr. Phil, I started listening to and I will keep doing that. To get out, Dr. David Clarke can map out the plan to leave the narc. I have a therapist, I have a coach in the Tony Robbins network. I am coming out of codependency thanks to Lisa Romano. Narcs are in my family and the closest ones were my mother and my brother. I never had a chance with them because of their abuse as a child. You can't use the same ways you did as a child to get away from them. I am a giver, people pleaser. But, with those types, there is nothing but complete depletion when trying to get along, you just can't get along with them. I have a special needs teen who needs care, but is doing well. My talents are in music, art and I can apply my skills to many things. So, I'm in the "Life autopsy". I had dreams and I have had to adjust my life and learn those lessons in order to move on. You see, my dreams were never meant for those who are narcissistic and are takers. My dreams are meant to be shared only with those who can really love me, which includes myself loving myself. Then allow those who are healthy into my life and hanging out with the ones I trust, who have got my back and cherish me for who I am. I know I am very capable to reciprocating. I am no contact with narcissist who abuse you emotionally, like the ex. For my parents, I have set boundaries, they are not in my life the same way as before. Narcs will never stop trying to bait you back into their life, I give them respect as a daughter. For all the others who are narcs, too bad narcs, you went too far with me, and yet I have survived and gone no contact with you. They are all cut off, so that I can make room for my new life narc free. My most recent lesson is recognizing that what I like to do is so much better without narcs, I am staying at my favorite vacation spot, and it is so much better without them around. So much peace and no crazy making. Just being ourselves. Dr. Phil is so right in saying cut off the takers. I can definitely attest, takers keep taking and don't care what happens to you. Keep your health and wellbeing and run from them.

My situation is divorced father, 100k in debt, injured in a way that prevents me from using my education (bs&mba), no contact with my young children, and unable to do the work I want to bc it doesn’t pay enough to keep up with my child support order that based on an inputed income I can’t earn. Autopsy? The reason for my situation is the Family Court system. I am being forced, essentially at gun point, to fund the abuse of my children at the hands of their mother, to point of my own bodily harm and impoverishment. How am I, and the many other divorced fathers like me, not stuck?

Thanks for honoring my freedom of speech. Phil is a Christian, so there shouldn't be any doubt that HIS idea of a perfect Design is Christianity. However ... had Jesus been a real man ... HIS PERFECT Design would have been Judaism ... wouldn't it? Image of Jesus Make of me what you will I can be a Catholic still Or I can be faithful to Judaism too You make the rules 'cause you are the fools A Protestant I can be in this minute Camouflage comes and goes with the finite Dreamland is never far away As glimmers of fantasy lead the way Playtime is over but still you play With the image of Jesus both night and day Someday maybe you will learn To stand in line and take your turn In the present you don't want to be Your desire is bliss for eternity June VanDerMark April 4th 2014
