Its only US with long history of war, not Philippines. Philippines is still in its infancy. Read history Vietnam ,Laos and Cambodia wars. Middle east wars where many countries has been in that area have been fighting wars on in on and off mode like Israel,Palestine,Lebanon,Syria and others. Philippines will look like a beginner when faced with that kind of war. If Philippine rebels were armed like Houthi rebels ,Phil. Armed forces will not last long like a year.

U.S has one of the biggest Naval base back then in the Philippines ,U.S Subic Naval base in Pampanga since the 1960 during the Vietnam war. General Douglas Mc Arthur was in Command at the time.

Di kami nasali nang mga ka buddy ko, yung mas matatanda raw at may experience na ang dadalo. Putek bat yung may mga experience na? Diba dapat kaming rookies dumalo para matuto kami. Pano pag nag retired na sila? Edi useless din. Kami nang mga kasamahan ko 23-30 yrs old pa lang kaya siguradong magtatagal sa serbisyo. Battle hardened is not the right word but the best would be some experience. Fighting rebels armed with rifles,machine guns and mortars are different from fighting a regular Arny equipped with those weapons and equipped with rockets, missiles,laser guided missiles, spy satellites,artillery,NLAW ,Javelins. Differences in weapons in battle can mean a lot in winning or losing the war.

@@user-us7hm4pz3g Its like who your opponent is. If you are fighting Pacquiao you might last two rounds but if you fight Mike Tyson and hits you with one blow ,you will last in seconds. If you lose ,the spectators don't know you but if you win, the spectators will give you all praises to sky high. Phil. army never encountered real opponent since Korean war and never experience a non stop war. Real wars are unforgiving like Ukraine ,Syria . Real war doesn't give you chance to rest ,rearm, treat your wounded and bury dead, eat real meal nor bath.
