I put it in the same place as the old antenna (similar to thes the one on top of your TV in your videos) and left the pre-amp that came with the other antenna in-line. So, the only thing that was changed was the antenna. Wow - It worked great! Thank you! I scanned channels before swapping it out, and got 67 channels. After swapping it, I got 91 channels. Tested the Antenna today. Very impressed with the performance. First tested it from 28 miles away and had no problem picking up channels. Received the VHF Channel 2 NBC Channel after moving it a few times. A first for an indoor Antenna in my area to get the NBC VHF Channel. That is the key to this antenna is to move it to find the ideal spot. This Antenna beats all of the Mohu Leaf Antennas I have tested. For the price, this is one of the best for sure. My son will be testing it at UCF later and he will be much closer to the towers. Thanks, Tyler.

Hey amigo! This is HANDS DOWN the best bang for your buck antenna! I was using a flat antenna outside and this thing indoors BESTED it in SPADES! In fact, it picked up 15 more channels than any other previous antennas that I have used in the past. I just hooked up 20ft coaxial cable and hid the antenna high up on a window behind a curtain that is always closed so it can't be seen. I also used the little amplifier that came with the flat plastic antenna and it boosted the numbers on the tv signal meter to 98 and 100 on most channels. I decided not to use the amp because I was still drawing in rock steady 86 to 98 with it on the majority of the channels. Since then I have bought 3 more of these for my other sets. For just $11.25 this is a no brainer! Thanks again for your review. Btw, do you have an antenna rankings chart? Oh..I also did a review on Amazon giving you your deserved props!

I LOVE THIS THING! I previously tried the Mohu and Flatenna larger offerings, used shipping tape to affix them white side out on a condo window. My favorite station never could get unbroken reception, VHF channelm 10 around 195MHz. I tried a simple telescoping whip with a magnet, but hard to get it in the right spot AND in the right orientation. This cheap Philips antenna though, wow, I TAPED the top of the loop onto the window, the large black puck hanging down with both antenna elements simply sticking out to each side...BAM, I now have VHF reception across the board. YAY. Interesting note when testing positioning via Sony TV. SNR was the only thing that mattered, as a 50 for RSSI with 20 SNR got a signal, but a 70 RSSI with 18 SNR would not, which was really odd. If you place these suckers vertically instead of horizontally, you can get a similar really high yet undecodable signal.

In fact, well over 70 years for just the rabbit ears (for VHF). In my experience over the years, this type of indoor TV antenna had almost DOUBLE the range in the NTSC era as when compared to ATSC 1.0. So back in analog days, a rabbit ears and loop could get you a snowy but watchable picture in moderate signal areas. Sometimes old technology has a few strengths over the new.

I bought this antenna recently after trying 3 different style antennas from Walmart. While the 3 previous antennas received a few channels, this little Phillips rabbit ears brought in 60+ channels. As I found out with the Channel Master 35 indoor antenna, I do get all 6 of our translators, then several that are listed as "Fair". So some indoor antenna can get weaker signals. Surprising results given the price for this antenna. My family subscribes to cable TV but I've been looking to get an antenna just out of curiosity to see how many channels I'll get in my area. As mentioned in a comment on a previous video, I was able to get around 20 channels using a paper clip on my older 32 inch TV. I now have a 40 inch TV that's mounted to the wall so it's very hard to get OTA TV signals now. I'm torn between this antenna and the Mohu Leaf Supreme Pro. Broadcast towers are within 20 miles of my house so I'm wanting to get as many channels as I can with an antenna.

Tyler... Note: I have no connection with anyone in the broadcast industry. So an amplified indoor flat panel antenna of mine died. I replaced it with this Philips antenna after seeing your video - after all, for les than $15 it's no great loss if this doesn't work. Well, it replaced the other, amplified antenna and without the preamp that the other one had built in. I would say this antenna worked as well as the old one did. My market is DFW and I am about 30 miles from the local antenna "farm". Our channel 8 (ABC) is the only VHF one and works perfectly with this antenna. Thanks for the review. This one is a bargain.

This Antenna performs better then the $40 RCA Amplified Antenna I also purchased. I am about 18 miles from all the broadcast towers for the Detroit market. Sitting behind my 55” TCL TV, on a tv stand about 4’ off the ground I am able to get: Fox, NBC, ABC, ION, (31) Independent, (50.1) CW, PBS, and CBS. All sub channels as well of course. There is a delicate balance in getting solid reception for Fox, which is a HI-V (VHF) station and NBC-CBS Due to the placement of the towers, but I can report this antenna can due that from my range. You will have to take some time to make incremental adjustments. Your tv tuner has a lot to do with this as well, of the 4 TCL TV’s I have owned I will say their NTSC GEN 1 tuners offer really good performance. I need to say something about the Fox 2 (VHF) channel. Yesterday morning all was well watching Fox 2 news and switching between that and the Fox Weather sub channel until me and my son started our 3d printer in the room behind the tv for a really long print. Fox 2 (2.1) became unwatchable. in fact, after I ran a bunch of channel scans thinking something was wrong it was never picked up again until we shut off the 3d printer! After that everything went back to the way it was before. Just a heads up, it drove me fricking crazy the whole day. I was searching local Reddit threads to see if other people have had this issue. One guy remarked about his microwave causing an issue with his Fox 2 news reception when it was in use and that kinda tipped me off.

Sorry about that - I didn't really want the ad to go above 60 seconds but the advertiser kept changing the script to the point it ended up being about two minutes long.

How do you get this thing to work??
@AntennaMan Жыл бұрын
Connect it to your TV and run a channel scan. You may need a signal meter to find the best location for it. See video below: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5CmqmNurZqkm7s

I am visiting Stroudsburg & Mt Pocono, PA & no TV signals in Stroudsburg I thought there repeater towers there? I cheeked the web sites but no towers listed. Mt Pocono I get Scranton/Wilks-Barre strong but not Allentown one.

I cut one end off a coax cable striped the coating off leaving around 3 inches of the copper exposed stuck it in the window plugged other end to tv ran a scan picked up 10 channels . Fyi the closest tv tower is 45 miles picks it up great the longest away is 70 miles picks up 4 channels from it the signal is weak to good but at night is perfect . I spent no money doing this the cable Was already there ! Winner winner chicken dinner !
