The Phillies are in need of some roster upgrades, and the Trade Deadline is the perfect time to do that. In this video, I break down the players I think the Phillies should go after, and what it might cost to get that player.

I want to avoid trading Painter for the most part but I think in terms of the Phillies mind if they find the right deal they might move him. I hope they don't.

I also like Eduardo Tait. He is going to be a stud one day and we will eventually need a catcher after J.T. I would try to keep him as well.

I think Bellinger would be a better outfielder to get than Robert for both skill and clubhouse reasons but if the package deal with crochet is included with Robert then that’s a better trade for sure.

Yeah that is my thought process through this. I don't love Robert just by himself, but with Crochet it's a different story. Belli I will talk about in part 2.

Maybe a slightly cheaper version of the double whitesox trade you suggested, and the Phillies could do Rooker/Miller with the A’s or Finnegan/Thomas with the Nats.

I don't want to move Painter. They might if they find the right deal, but he is pretty much untouchable. If teams like Mick Abel that would be amazing because I don't think he will turn out to be anything amazing at the MLB level.

I think we should focus on our outfield more than pitching considering most of our outfielders can’t hit very well and aren’t very good defending either (besides marsh)

If Trout is fully healthy he is a top player in baseball. He was on GOAT pace until all these injuries. I would love him here, but I don't know if the Angels would do it or if he would stay healthy during his time here.

Just don’t see the logic in trading for an ace when you already have 3-4 others on the roster. Just seems like a misallocation of resources. Crochet only has proven it for one season as a starter and Robert can’t stay on the field. This completely depletes a farm system

@@brandenp1187 it’s proven talent though. Robert has never been in a lineup with this significant type of protection & talent while also having guys to learn from. Painter is coming off Tommy John while hopeful we just don’t know what he is yet, crochet in his first year is proven to be the real deal as a starter & was pretty good out the bullpen before similar to Ranger & Sanchez

@@WEEZYFANx2136 I wouldn’t be surprised if the Sox asked for more than that. I wouldn’t do this package. Don’t need to trade for an ace when you already have 4 really good pitchers. This is gonna be larger than a Padres Soto package. Give me Taylor Ward or Brent Rooker and I’ll be happy. The A’s and Angel’s also have relievers for sale.

Not really a fan of any of these trades. Miller has been rumored to not be available and his price tag is way too high for a reliever. The Sox trade isn’t very feasible as the price would be extremely high and the Phillies don’t need an ace. This team needs complimentary pieces like Rooker or Ward. Not a star.

Come trade dead line the over rated Philly. GM will do very little this. GM can spend. But has yet to make a big impact trade. The outfield problem should have been dealt with in the off season. Weak in left and center. Team is show problem in staring pitching. Also need a tip reliever. The. GM will do very little. Like last year and year before that. Marlins. And cubs. Again relax GM will do nothing
