Good video I just bought a bottle I want to use on an old wood vise I found curious how it worked I think I'll wire brush it after this application prime it and paint it red. It'll be good enough

Imagine an auto car washer that could spray this underneath your vehicle and let it remove rust for a couple of days and then wash off and repeat.

I would only use it for light rust. But what is with Loctite containers? The caps on several of their products detach the top part if you try to slightly tighten the cap. And the containers themselves will become brittle and crack. I have to find replacement caps from another companies container and duct tape the cracks...

CLR calcium line and rust remover from Home Depot works better but you have to soak it overnight. Only drawback it’s not a jelly form like this one. I think if you soak overnight it will work great too.

I use The Works toilet bowl cleaner to remove rust on lots of things. Just don't breathe in the fumes and don't leave it in too long.

It works great for that. If you want it to last a long time though, apply a coat of paint to the undercarriage afterwards

I'm going to guess this wouldn't work on rusted truck fenders, unless I use it to remove rust that is there and paint so it don't get worse

Did you try it? About to use this stuff in my frame. It says to remove any loose rust first and then apply. So I'm going to use a grinder with a wire wheel and apply this stuff. Rinse it. Do again as needed. And they spray with an undercoat ...hopefully it works out 🤞

It all depends on how bad the rust is. You don’t want the integrity of the Caliper jeopardized

The product claims that it is more than just a remover. It claims it is also used to bond with the rust to prevent it from rusting more. Nothing was mentioned about that.

You doing it wrong.. if you take that metal piece and stick it in the bottle for 6 hours. You will find nice and clean metal..

Nowhere does Loctite recommend sticking things in the bottle. This is for application, as the directions imply. You’re referring to a different rust dissolving product.

@@PhillipsVision difference between what the bottle says and the real world. Just like a pipe that says it's a half inch pipe is really .6 inches inside diameter, .7 inches outside diameter and .5 inches nowhere. The navy jelly works best with 2-3 hours of application, sure it hardens a bit but you brush that off and it leaves a nice dark coating that prevents future rust. And instead of water, using a base solution (like baking soda in water) neutralizes the phosphoric acid and makes your metal part stop smelling like battery acid.
