Funny enough, that unconscious synchronization of strides that you were talking about is a real phenomenon. It's actually the reason that they had to shut down and redesign the Millennium Bridge in London. Basically, enough people were walking on it in synchrony and it caused the bridge to sway back and forth. But because of the swaying, it made people synch up more just to keep balance. There are some funny videos about it

Every time you show those GTOs I lose track of everything else 😅😍 On another note, I just realized what I need to work on next: sprints! Since I'm quite comfortable with my drag stop and getting a decent powerstop too, I think it's time to get fast! 😃 Great video as always Bill 👌 (3:58 OMG that ball was dead before it knew it! 😂 Love watching the little guy. And 8:45 sooo adorable...😍)

@@BillStoppard I was talking to a skater friend today actually and he hits me up and says I was on your instagram too, which I don't use. Took a look, that's awesome haha. I resonate with what you said in the video, I pretty much exclusively skate solo, but there's just something very powerful and exciting about skating in a pack like this. Looking forward to the next one!

It was nice meeting you, Bill! I wish I could have stuck it out more. I was seeing warning signs of heat stroke, so I had to bail prematurely. I was able to get fresh for the Friday night skate though, and it was awesome! If you think Philly is beautiful by day, you should skate it by night next time. Wish you could have joined us!
@BillStoppard5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I totally get why you had to leave early. I had to miss the night skate for the exact same reason; overheated and too much water loss. Glad to hear you rebounded so well!!

Came for the skating. Stayed for the Dexter. Dexter's always leaning over like "bruh.. let's go this way!" lol. Seriously though, Philly looks fun! Love the quote at the end. LMAO Being from Texas it resonates like things I actually hear all the time.

Should you ever be in Europe ( the Netherlands specifically) between May and October feel free to join us at the Utrecht Skate Parade (every Friday from May till October, 20:00). 300+ skaters, a DJ on a car to lead you through the city and police and traffic controllers that block off the roads for free passage of the parade.

HI Bill.your a legend.just wanted your advice please..Just seen your inline skater beginner video.Interesting what you were saying about being weak in ankles but I’m thinking my reason maybe I’ve been window cleaner 40 years.pounding the ladders and my right arm which I use most is not what it was.I just get fatigue building up so have to stop.arm just aches .Anyway I just got back into roller skating quads after 45year break.Did it my 1975 school disco.We got to our holiday destination Penzance Cornwall near lands end England.I start roller skating by sea and find a skating group SK8PZ and there is a silent disco on next day.They supply you with Bluetooth headphones.brilliant night made Lot new friends.so I was roller skating all week.But I felt my wheels were slipping someone said my wheels look worn like had bald spots maybe.So got different wheels off guy who sold me skates eBay.even tried new skates USA viper but preferred my old ones but wheels better but still feel. Maybe my old ankles hold me back a bit but I’m doing backwards crossovers now anti-clockwise like used to.It’s nice feeling to glide about better than running.wouldn’t run again .did marathons when young.never really like it.Me and my wife have push scooters too high quality ones made in Czech Republic.guy who’s friend makes them .Pavel he races them around Plymouth.great guy and the scooter is good you can glide around in between pushing like skates.Anyway after seeing lady teacher Asha and Bill Stoppard the legend on KZbin I’m thinking those inline blades 3 wheel ones look good.So I’m giving them a go.maybe my ankles not strong enough now if not can go back to my quads.first go inline was getting around then I tried a crossover.Not good idea as I pulled my ankle a bit so I’m resting now as have to work tomorrow.Glad found your videos.will get back to in-line soon give it a go but slowly this time.thanks.Steve in uk .

articcircleado facebook.com/pg/LandSkaters/ The skates are 3 days a week, Sat 10 or 11 am, Sunday 10 am, and Tuesday 7 pm. The Sat and Tues are more advanced skates, so if you're not sure start with Sunday. We meet at the steps of the art museum. There's a landskater yahoo group where announcements are made. It's only cancelled if it rains or snows.
