while gathered through ages knowledge present itself to the modern subject as huge and probably impossible to completely grasp, there are still no alternatives to it, at least until AI is developed up to the point where its possible to live process huge chunks of data (f.e. books) in a mass scale. until then its a rather simple choice - to read or not, to listen or not.
