Was not a solar eclipse. Christ was crucified at Passover which occurs at full moon. Solar eclipses (by definition) can only occur at new moon. The darkness at Christ's death was supernatural.

Cody, most Biblical facts show that Jesus was not born in December. Research when John the immerser's father was working his time in the the temple. He then went home and got his wife pregnant. Elizabeth was pregnant 6 months before Mary ( if I remember correctly ). The shepherds were in the fields with their sheep. They only did this in the warm winter months. Of the return of Jesus we know two things. 1. Mat 24:36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. 2. it will happen very fast with no warning 1Co 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

You may find this interesting, I was brought to Christ the King my senior year in high school and went into the Marines, lost my way struggling with the whole Son of God thing, like a lot of folk, that was more than 30 years ago... until about 6 years ago and I don't remember who the preacher was... but listened to a sermon about the crucifixion itself... and he said that when Christ took all the sins of the world into himself, God the father had to look away... I imagined myself being a witness to the event when that happened, He could NOT have resembled anything human .... that realization struck me so deep my faith is now unshakable and sealed forever

Jesus was quoting scripture when he said, My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me?” Also, when I was eight years old I actually drowned in a pool and a beautiful golden beam of light came down to me, it was an Angel, I asked her if my mom would miss me and she said that I was special and I wasn’t supposed to die yet, so she told me breathe in, I told her that I couldn’t because I can’t get water in my lungs, but she told me to anyway, so I did, and finally my friends mom came out of the house and pulled me out, the Angel told me to breathe out all of the water on the way up, and I would be okay. A shortened version, but truth none the less. God has blessed me greatly and I love Him so very much.

@Jaseduckman I agree with Jon here. Jesus was not lamenting on how God was forsaking himself, but he was starting to quote Psalms. This would have been a common Psalm that every Jew would have known. It would immediately bring the whole Psalm into their mind which described the events of His beating and crucifixion perfectly.

Jesus died for our sins,,, & not just our past sins, but also our future sins.... None of us are perfect. None are without sin. Repent and ask for forgiveness, with a meaningful heart. Doesn't mean we won't sin again, but we do the best we can and ask for guidance. One of the biggest issues I think we humans have, is that we never feel worthy enough to make it to heaven. We cannot keep telling ourselves that we are not good enough to enter His kingdom. satan would like you to believe that,,,, but he's a lier. The truth is God loves you so much, that He sent His one and only son to die for you on the cross. Remember that Jesus went to prepare a place for you and me in that glorious kingdom. Don't waiver. Don't falter. Don't let guilt eat you up inside. Don't feel like your not good enough. YOU are a child of God. Keep the faith, keep pushing forward. Standing on the rock of His love ♥
