I am a fairly "New" Christian and liked the explanation of the Trinity. I am an older lady and my Testimony (a long story) would explain why it took so long. When I came to Christ I was listening to a podcast crying my eyes out and asked Jesus to come into my life and that's when I felt the Holy Spirit come into my chest. I felt at peace. It took me awhile at listening to Christian podcasters to realize it was the Holy Spirit. Now that doesn't mean I don't have bad days because my Sorrows haven't changed but I have Christ Jesus on my side and that makes a difference. I'm glad you went off topic.🙏📖💜

I truly love how they know the Word, but I do get confused when they are jumping all around and not reading the Scriptures, where we leave off? It's all about Jesus, but they do allow personal events to take over, which, btw, is pretty cool, and it's showing us that others are watching the podcast! Why do I only listen to unashamed…. It’s funny, real, inspires me to think and struggle with the Word, is on often each week, and Phil always makes it simplistically clear what the gospel is no matter the subject of the episode. Too many Christian podcasts are goofy or too political or led by people not close to my age or too much about self help than the gospel or far off in beliefs. Thank you for being part of my weekly routine to keep me in the Word and focused on Jesus!

I watch two podcasts, Unashamed and Duck Call Room. While they're completely different, both are squarely rooted in Jesus. I haven't seen every episode of the Duck Call Room, but I remember distinctly seeing the Unashamed Podcast for the first time at episode 17. The only reason I watched it was because of the Duck Dynasty show, which I liked. Then I went back to episode one and watched every one to catch up. I've watched every one since. I was not a believer at the time I started watching. I grew up in the church, and never heard the gospel in a meaningful way. At the time it was just a bunch of ancient history preached by a man with a name that started with doctor. He was a brilliant man and historian, but I wasn't receiving anything that made a connection for me. I just went through the motions every week. That's where my parents went so us kids just had to go along. After the first few episodes of Unashamed I got increasingly interested in the message. There were connections being made in a way that was meaningful on a personal level I could relate to, and now I believe in Jesus. The more I hear the word, the more I want to hear. It's like a hunger in me. I'm 65 now, sure glad I have Jesus. I also have peace of mind.

I'll be honest, I don't really understand the trinity and I hope that doesn't disqualify me in regards to salvation. I've read the Bible (cover to cover) several times and although I'm not good at remembering where specific verses are, I do remember the messages of the verses. There's a verse where Jesus is telling his disciples that he's gotta go, but when he goes, the spirit will come, but also that he has to go before the spirit will come. That makes me think Jesus and the spirit can't coexist on earth simultaneously. However, other verses talk about Jesus sitting at the right hand of God, so apparently the Father and the Son can coexist in Heaven. And what about "The Word"? The book of John starts off talking about "In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God". Okay but the Trinity doesn't appear to include "the word" so what's that about?

If you notice the baptism in the name of the father, the son in the Holy Spirit, these are titles. Your birth certificate says father, and there’s a name it says mother and there’s a name. Father and mother are titles. So what I’m trying to say is acts 2:38 baptism in Jesus name is the name. There’s no gift of the Holy Spirit in Matthew . There is a gift of the Holy Spirit acts free gift. Jesus was telling them to baptize in the name of the father of the son of the Holy Spirit, because he hadn’t sacrificed himself yet keep in mind, Jesus said if this cup were to pass for me, his human nature didn’t know if he would go through with this, his godly nature did. Matthew 28:19, Jesus is The Name we are to be Baptized in. The Name represents authority, and Jesus says that all power was given to Him, in heaven, and in earth. He is The Father of the redeemed, He is The Son of God, and He is The Holy Spirit. 🙏❤️
