Hey Philly - I been following your channel for a few months now. I started my channel about a year after you (summer 2022) and it's been fun following your growth. I can see you having a huge following one day. Like you, I also quit my 9-5 to focus on my passions. So, I take a lot of inspiration in what you do... As a bodybuilder, running is a foreign concept to me. But you present the world of running in a fun way that's easy to engage with. Best of luck and excited to see the channel grow!!

Congratulations on 10k subscribers! Your first parkrun was the video that got me into your channel, so it's great to see you back at one. I deliberately saved this video for motivation for parkrun today, although hurt my neck at the gym yesterday so I'm not sure how running is going to go. By the way, you were the fastest female at Bushy since April 16th - not bad when you weren't pushing 100%!! No woman has 'won' Bushy parkrun since 2011: I reckon you could put that right😉 Also, well done to Daniel on passing his test! I passed mine in Jan 2020 and haven't driven since😂

Parkruns are great fun. I generally use them as my speed session (I like doing fartlek, often people start racing me when I pick up the pace, then I slow down, at the finish line their knackered and I am okay but feel guilty of tempting other runners to push 🙄😅 I need to wear a t shirt saying: I am doing fartlek today, then again they'll probably avoid me seeing the word fart 😅), sometimes easy run, sometimes I go for a PB.

At the start I thought you were talking about pace per kilometre rather than per mile. Got a huge shock when you started running 😮. Seeing people like yourself run so fast is inspirational at a park run. Although we rarely see you because you guys have normally finished and gone home by the time we finish. It’s like seeing a Ferrari in action❤ You could do a half marathon instead? If you are looking for a cross-country challenge, try the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. We walked the 25 miles in 15 hours, but you could probably run it in 6?
@PhilyBowden2 жыл бұрын
Aha thank you! Yes a half marathon is potentially on the cards, just going to focus on having fun with races and see where it takes me. 3 peaks sounds like a great challenge!
@hamwhacker2 жыл бұрын
@@PhilyBowden Good luck. Personally I did a 10km race recently and really enjoyed going 5 minutes faster than in training. Sometimes I volunteer at Park Run Newbury which is a good (fast?) course on Greenham Common with hundreds of runners. And there are usually a couple of fast female runners. Although you are a track star so would beat everyone 😀. My son loves running and did a half marathon in 1 hour 22 minutes. You would probably smash that as well! Note The Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge that I was referring to is in Yorkshire. It is not to be confused with the National 3 Peaks (Snowdon etc) but is still famous and has running records attached to it. Since you can run along the flat between the peaks. We walked it from Philpin Farm Campsite which is on the route. If you conk out after the 1st or 2nd peak you can get a train back to Ribbledale (only a mile or so from the campsite) from Horton-In-Ribblesdale. Also taking the train from Settle to Carlisle for a day trip is one of the most famous stretches of railway in the country, such is the beauty of the landscape.
