@redfishbluefish4973 Жыл бұрын
@@jjmah7 I get paid to play live jazz music and then pay taxes on the money I make to play live. I didn’t use to use that term, but I’ve learned over the years that there are so many people out there who claim to be musicians, when really they just get stoned and sit on their couch playing the same 3 songs. Ok, so, this video is brilliant. That goes without saying. But... am I the only one who realized this was "Chalk Dust Torture" upon initial viewing? What does that say about me? Is there a support group meeting again soon? :) (edit: though this came from KZbin, the original poster's description didn't come over with it, so I'll explain: some guy took a Phish video, stripped the audio, and then proceeded to record his own interpretation of what listening to Phish sounds like to a non-Phish fan. The humor is genius, as is the execution!)

A few years ago my wife and I were driving on the interstate way out in the country and traffic came to a complete stop. We sat there a long time (apparently an accident or car fire, but anyway...). We got bored and decided to give every channel on SiriusXM a try, even for a few minutes. We stopped on the Jam Band Channel (whatever it's called) and the radio display said something about Phish. I made the comment that a guy that I worked with LOVED this band and asked me to listen to a CD that he had burned, but I never got more than halfway before handing it back to him. About five minutes in, my wife turns to me and says (in a very serious tone) "When are they going to be done tuning up and start playing some MUSIC???"

But really from what I've seen, people who play hundreds of live music shows per year respect other musicians who play hundreds of live music shows per year, they don't diss and hate to make themselves feel better. Seriously, playing that much, and with the intent to make each show and each song different, you've got to progress as a musician. It's becoming obvious to me that not only have you never played an instrument, you've never played it well, nor have you listened to more than thirty seconds of this band, so again, your view is completely invalid.

This is Phish 3.0. They were much better back in the 90's.

This is actually more entertaining than a Phish concert.

8/3/03 Chalkdust Version is smokin hot for real tho. I love when ppl say they hate phish or won't give it a chance, so hard to get effing floor tix as it is. Good lawd do not make these fuckers popular.

Definitive 1.0 Phish. 3.0 can’t pull off “They Ate My Fractal” jams like this anymore.

Funny thing is, if Phish had actually played this exact same song, most of the audience wouldn’t have even noticed! They would have gone wild...

I can definitely tell I would have been so happy to hear it. Especially the heavy nostril breathing into the mic, we'd all be having a good time.

I went to a phish show last summer to see what my friends had been talking about for years. Terrible. And some high ass hippy guy wouldn't stop dancing into me and then pet my hair. I am male.
