That is a jam being crafted in the moment, completely unique to tonight, never played before and will never be played again, and its beautiful, full of great interplay, valleys, peaks, and just a great musical journey, until it seamlessly transitions into one of their songs(NICU).

It was a standard Friday at work, then an Awesome Yoga class after work, and then an awesome Couch Tour Phish Friday night Summer show / Pizza dinner Party with my Great Friend Pep! The second set in Alpharetta on 8/3 and the opening set the next evening were epic Phish, but I do agree that this was by far the best second set of the summer East Coast run so far. The energy and creativity of the season set of this night has been my personal favorite especially with the versions of Meatstick, Drowned, NICU, Runaway Jim > Run Like an Antelope > Runaway Jim > Run Like an Antelope and of course busting out You Enjoy Myself then an encore of A Day in the Life was epic. I felt like I was in a time machine.

I was at this Phish concert!!! And I think Page (the keyboardist) looked at me and my family during Stealing Time from the Faulty Plan (the opener of the show). But if not, then it was probably during Funky Bitch (the song after Stealing from the Faulty Plan, which is a cover) that Page looked at me and my family. So then, after Funky Bitch, they played Ocelot (the song on my shirt)! And that made me really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really happy.

I started to go to phish shows again after a long, long time away. Man things have changed.....but they remain the same. I have seen a couple shows since 04 and this is the other one. I had a great time and the “Stealing time from the faulty plan” sealed how I felt. The RAM Jam was excellent! The only song I didn’t want to hear they played; that one where they mention the guy from Barney Miller. All in all good times!!

I really dig it. I love their live stuff, I would probably say more than their albums. Personally most of their studio albums bore me, but the live stuff is extremely reminiscent of (everyone says this) the GratefulDead. I feel that’s nice. Just a long, continuous stream of improvisation and playing around with new ideas. For those who are mad about it being trending, well I don’t know what to say, give it a try, even if you don’t like it, give it 30 minuets. I’ve found that bands I dislike either were because I hated their sound or their personality, but I have found many good bands in the ones I’ve hated with a passion. It’s always nice to test new waters and broaden your horizons

Noah Henderson Well as someone who isn’t a die hard fan of either Fish, nor The Dead, I am not exactly the best person to ask. But I will try and get my understandings of it out. Phish and the Dead are both know for their improvised concerts. They also both seem to have roots in folk and rock. Both can play a single song for minutes on end. They both have a laid back fan base and both have a sort of connection with the people (like most bands do with their followers. Also the way they groove (remember this is all opinionated and not fact) and play is very reminiscent of the dead. If you have listened to any of the Dead’s Road Trip albums or Dick’s Picks albums and listen to the Phish live albums, it is very interesting to see how they both form a unholy union of improvisation and soft then hard guitar play. Also they seemed laid back and aren’t in it for the money, but more in it for the music and togetherness. Again I will state this is only my opinion. I am biased since I like to listen to both occasionally, but this doesn’t make me an expert. Both are jam bands, both play different categories of music on stage ranging from rock to country/folk. Improvising. Long playing time. Hopefully I was some help, even though my comment was spur of the moment and repetitive.

Ik I’m late on this but I’m a fellow phish Phan and for all the other phans are saying shit like “this comment section is full of non phish fans and it sucks”...just be thankful that people are at least observing what this wonderful band has to offer. Kudos to all of you who watched this just because it was #1 trending and hopefully this made u interested in this amazing community!
