I needed something "different" for a piece of artwork I've been working on for some time. Not to be the finished version generated by AI, but something I could manipulate and extend (in Corel Painter) using my brain and my hands. This technique gave me the starting point. And it's now underway in the direction of my first ideas. So it's a big thumbs up from me

I tried this with a photo in a psd format in 8 and 16 bit depth and could not duplicate this. So I opened a jpg file and tried again. All I got in all instances was an almost solid blue result in every version given me by generate. I was using PS beta. I'd love for this to work for me because it would save me a lot of time. I would like to cut out the subject and then apply this effect to the remaining parts of the photo. I did try that but kept getting the same dark blue result. And they photo itself had very little blue in it. I was using 10% brightness.

You can blend in the original background to add detail. You can also duplicate the original background layer, move it to the top layer, run a high pass filter and set the blending mode to soft light, overlay, hard light, vivid, or linear light to "sharpen" details that aren't exactly there.
@lory2videos5 ай бұрын

@@lory2videos I use 3.5 for radius and opacity 100% but vary it to your taste. You'll find a lot of variations within the blending modes. I'd play with those until you find a look you like and then adjust the opacity.

If this does not work for you, this is why: You are not getting the desired results simply because your “Quick Mask Mode Options” are set to “Color Indicates: Selected Areas” (instead of Masked Areas). In other words, your Quick Mask Mode settings are currently the total opposite to what Aaron’s Quick Mask Mode settings are. To fix this you have 2 options: (Option 1): Simply flip the percentages he uses around: so, when he uses 20%, you flip that to 80%. Or if he used 30%, you flip that to 70%, etc. (you get the idea). Or… (Option 2): When you are in the Quick Mask Mode click on “Channels” (next to your Layers tab), then double click on the “Quick Mask” icon in the panel and select “Color Indicates: Masked Areas” then click OK. Then your Quick Mask Mode settings will be the same as Aaron’s settings. Enjoy!

Interesting technique. However, I do not understand how (and don't agree with) the concept that using computer software to make a photo look like a painting makes the photo art, artistic, or fine art (pick one). It seems that photography is presumed to be a bit inferior to painting, which is completely erroneous.
