i will say that that line is really good- "carpool karaoke, steve aoki, logan paul" all such doldrum normie shit, none of which have any sort of real life consequences, but all have had such a grip on mainstream culture. the line points that out, that none of that shit matters, and i think the Woo-er is just happy to have someone recognize that. or maybe they were just so happy to see phoebe playing live that they woo'd randomly, i know i would LMFAO

This song always makes me feel a lot of really complicated feelings,. It's like it just sort of reaches in there and touches that part of me that sees everything the way it is and knows that there is absolutely nothing that I can do to stop or change it. "The End" is not a discrete event. One good sign would be if cities stop being able to offer fresh water, sewer, and electric service. But generally a collapse is visible only in retrospect. It happens very slowly, almost imperceptibly, and then all at once. Like dying old.

The country sound at the end is a nice nod to Bo’s “pandering” song because the song “That Funny Feeling” is totally a real country song. It rejects the the over development of society for a more close-to-nature close-to-self view of the world. Capped off with the bittersweet realization that whatever imminent danger looms, there is hope afterwards

totally reminded me of Nirvana's Unplugged album, Bo's campfire acoustic-bummer singalong. I thought Phoebe's live and recorded-single versions went in a nicely different Yankee Hotel Foxtrot sorta way, especially the buildup to the beautifully gloomy singalong outro.

@@luke-alex I think because we were the ones sold the lies, we were the ones that realised they were lies and that the truth is economic oppression and ecological destruction, we were the first ones to transition over to the digital world, and we are the ones that have been living this messed up version of adult life that Gen Z are coming in to. And we just understand a lot of the pain that Gen Z are feeling.
