How do you love rap when rap doesn’t love you back? From Rico Nasty’s harassment from toxic Carti fans, to Saucy Santana's unapologetically femme aesthetics in a queerphobic industry, to the assault case that put Megan Thee Stallion’s entire image on trial, each episode of Louder Than A Riot - the second season of our investigative hip-hop podcast - unpacks the unspoken rules of rap that hold the entire culture back. Tap in to our first episode at n.pr/louder-season-2.

" i wanted to see the world through your eyes until it happened and i changed my mind" I think this is about her trying to understand her dad's substance abuse by experimenting with it herself (she wanted to see why he chose alcohol or drugs over her). but when she tried it, it either gave her a bad trip or was just too painful for her because of her dad. so she "changed her mind"

I saw some people talking about the lyric "But you know the killer doesn't understand." And I think it's a really beautiful lyric, not only because the way in which she sings it is so soft; resigned, almost. But because its something that can be interpreted in so many ways. It's ambiguous in a way, because when you listen to it, you can reflect whatever you want onto it. It just depends on how you might interpret the whole song. it makes a direct juxtaposition with one of the first lyrics. it's genius. it could be taken as a "you are the killer. you are the killer and you don't understand what you're doing to me." "I am the killer. I have hurt you, but I cannot understand how I could have done it, because I was simply defending myself." "I am the killer. I would do anything for you. /if I could give you the moon, I would give you the moon./ you started crying, and I think that means you're afraid to the extent to which i would go for you."
