Phoebe's brilliance shines through within all her characters, rather than just one. Claire and her husband, the stepmother and the priest all contribute immensely to the show. I found myself looking forward to fleabag interacting with these characters throughout the series, especially her sister. I've never found myself finding so many characters as interesting as the main in a series before.

people can ask creators about accessibility! it's great that waller-bridge was open to questioning about amazon and even poked a little fun at it. hopefully next time she'll be a little more prepared to give specific answers and, i don't know how this works, but she might think more about different streaming sources (or, like, come up with one herself for just killing eve and fleabag).

Fleabag character "unlikeable"?! I found her a very vulnerable yet feisty young woman who was the only truth teller in the show and she was unjustly blamed for everything including her friend's death.
@ALTP137 жыл бұрын
I agree that she was a likable character but her friend's death was at the very least partly her fault
@adeel-eh7xq5 жыл бұрын
I thought she was likeable but more endearingly awkward.
@margaritam.91185 жыл бұрын
I actually felt like I’m sharing her guilt as a side-observer. Her friend’s death was caused by her, no doubt. It wasn’t on purpose, though. I mean who the fuck jumps in the street expecting a bike to hit them?
@sassypants75365 жыл бұрын
Yeah I mean her friend's death was partly her fault, and she could be a little selfish, but I found that she was really relatable as well. Especially using sex as a way to escape, and to feel something other than crushing shame, guilt and grief. Fleabag also has an amazing wit and a very clever, quick sense of humour. Some of her choices were a little dubious, but as a character I loved how not alot fazed her...she didn't overthink alot and seemed very confident in herself. I know part of that is due to not fully processing trauma or dealing with her grief, and it's mostly a defense mechanisim, but I loved her all the same.
@jabecker215 жыл бұрын
@@margaritam.9118 It's not necessarily true that her friend wasn't trying to kill herself. That's what Fleabag tells us but it may just be what she tells herself to try and feel better. Amazing show!

@@Mortthemoose Yeah but it was originally a BBC show. Since they don't rely on ads and 100 episode length reruns for revenue, it's quite rare for a show to go on just because it could go on. It’s certainly depressing. But the narrative of the show is very much through Fleabag’s POV and mind frame so I see why it would come across as nihilistic but I think as awkward as she is she cares about people-her friends, family, relationships. The other piece is being in grief can be a bit self involved because the rest of the world can fall away or be fuzzy or take a back seat when you’re in so much pain. 🤷🏾♀️
