That "it's fire season" line just got me 😂 Great video man! Love how you weave a narrative while still giving us all the details on this release. Also dope shots dude!! Phoenix 120 looks promising!

Great shots! I’ve shot the 35mm Phoenix at 100 ISO and have been pretty happy with that.
@StepsAndStonessАй бұрын
I need to play around with this larger version at a few different iso options because it does seem to have a bit more latitude than what I remembered. Thanks for checking it out!

Love the video! I think of using this for fall since it's very moody and contrast as is. And I love that you use a pentax 67 because I do too!

Very nice video. I just ordered a Valoi 120 template and 3 B&W films. Now I just need the camera 😊. I have a bunch of Pentax 645 on my watch list on eBay, so I have to go and pick. I noted the difference between DSLR scans and Frontier. Fr example, to photo att 7:16. How do you remember it? Closer to DSLR or Frontier?
@StepsAndStoness3 күн бұрын
All the DSLR scans feel very much how the day looked! Love this film, it just needs a little more TLC in the scanning process to let it shine

Great video! I was wondering where you got the left hand grip with the all black hardware? I’ve been looking for a left hand grip for a while.

How could you not try phoenix 135 by using a set of adapter for 67, my friend?

No word about price. Why nobody who got the film for free and published the required yt video, made at least a hint on the subject?
@thatfellarostoАй бұрын
it's $11.99 (this took 10 seconds to look up 😔)
@estwernАй бұрын
@@thatfellarosto doesn't matter how fast you can search, it's about information provided to viewers by the author. Because it is a balance between price/result that needs to be clear for all, before going to buy the product advertised.
@thatfellarostoАй бұрын
@@estwern Its the same product thats been around since December, just a bigger negative. the differences would be obvious even without seeing scans.
@estwernАй бұрын
@@thatfellarosto that's another thing...being the same. we thought that buying (and in extenso supporting the company) we will get better and consistent new film. they said that this is what they will do. instead, we get 120, which is obliviously a bit better, but nothing changed in the 35mm zone. i hope (and from online chatter we are 'a few') that at some point, this batch of film will eventually be over and get the v2 as fast as they can do it again.

Well, I'm certain glad to hear that Phoenix 120 has "charm", because it does not have: Color control. Cannot do a red, just a ruddy orange. Contrast so excessive that it will make a devoted Ektar 100 user weep with frustration. Grain the size of ping-pong balls. Sharpness? "We don't need no stinking sharpness." Okay, Harmon says it's a proof of concept. What does that mean? What is that "concept" being proved? That Harmon can make a color negative film comparable to any number of others on the market? Clearly not. That Harmon can make a color film which may not be the greatest, but is very inexpensive. Clearly not. So, here's a concept they may be trying to prove: You can make a film so conventionally bad that no one familiar with it would pay more than $3 a roll for it, but you can sell enough at full market film price to make the whole project worthwhile if you can get YT photo-channel nerds to hype the hell out of it as something special that only the cool kids use.
