Lovely flight with a special friend ;) Love my Phoenix 1600 too, it sure can take some abuse and it's super maneuverable 👍 I added flaps on mine, makes a BIG difference when you have a limited space to land, it hovers like an helicopter :D

Flaps would be so useful, I should do this as well. Landing can be a bit tricky atm.

@@jay.the.mole.7143 I have some videos testing these flaps out, you can see especially on part 3 how to do it :) Here is part 2 with some real life testing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/haWtfXifp7SHjbc Now I have them set with first position just about 5mm down for thermal hunting (it works beautifully!) with 5% elevator compensation, and then the second at full 45 to 50º down with around 16% down elevator mix, it's my final settings ;)

Hey mate just discovered your channel and I’m enjoying your videos as I slope soar in Illawarra as well. I’ve noticed you fly in a lot of different locations but you don’t have any videos of the north side of Hill 60 which is surprising because I reckon that’s the best place in the Illawarra. Have you tried the north side?

Hey glad you're enjoying. And very good question, actually been keen to fly there but bit freaked out around landings, with the small landing area. What are you thoughts?

@@jay.the.mole.7143 Hi Jay, also new to your channel, landing is not all that hard at the top of hill 60, we just aim our foamy planes at something soft looking & try not to hit it to hard. If you would like to practice with one om my foamy gliders, just let me know.

The thing is once you fly there you won’t want to fly anywhere else, it’s awesome. Not a good area for big planes, would suggest a 1.2m or smaller foamy for there. Couple of different ways to land. 1. Slowly sweep left and right slowly backing your way in and drop down. (Watch out for tourists) 😂2. Fly around behind the hill and drop down. (Watch out for Mercedes and BMW’s)😂 Don’t know if that’s helpful at all. Hope to see you up there sometime.
