Its also probably the prototype to Apollo Justice in a way as the limited 3d animation is nigh identical and of course, Ema is there.

This case has the second worst case of "well somebody has to go to jail," in the original trilogy. In sisters, the victim wrote mayas name in blood, and there's no other possible suspect. In samurai, theres a fucking photograph of a man of the defendants build carrying the murder weapon, and he has no alibi. In farewell, the gun has edgeworths fongerprints on it. In this one... theres one witness who we immediately establish is a liar. We know the victim was in Edgeworths car, but that only proves the killer had access to Edgeworths car, which could be anybody. The fact she has confessed makes it a little more acceptable, but its still super tenuous. I love the reveal of the blackmail, lana's motivations actually make perfect sense, but the case generally is just kinda annoying.
@williamgilbert4099 Жыл бұрын
what’s the first?
@chibiraptor Жыл бұрын
@@williamgilbert4099 the first is the finale of the second game. Day 1, we establish there's no evidence the suspect was present at the time of the crime, that there's at least 1 other suspect, and the other suspect has already proven that she's a liar who has tampered with the crime scene. We also know that our defendant absolutely was not present for the murder, which makes it more annoying.

No sisters is the worst. No one questions the fact that Mia died "instantly" (yes I know, updated autopsy report) when they say that she's guilty because Maya was written in blood. Not to mention that doesn't mean anything in the first place? It's reaaaaally obvious that the killer himself could have written that and even if it was Mia she could've written that for any number of reasons. It's just moon logic compared to the rest.
@poudink579120 күн бұрын
Eh, the confession makes it perfectly acceptable to me. Dunno why you say that's tenuous. I've only played this game and half of the second one, but to me Turnabout Samurai was worse. You prove Will Powers couldn't be the murderer at the end of the second day of trial and that proof doesn't get contested at any point afterwards. The case could end right there. Sure, you haven't found the actual murderer yet, but that shouldn't be the job of the defense attorney.

Darkest, most corrupt case. I (re)played it a few days ago. This case has added some more modern mechanisms from further games, but has same very awkward "progress triggers" and . . . . . . completely did not get the motive of the final villain both in the past events and current events.
@EdgardoJCruz-dk5kv Жыл бұрын
Gant did all this to get leverage on Lana and by instating her as Chief Prosecutor, he could get full access of any future cases as he sees fit to manipulate into his favor. Thus furthering his successful reputation. All through blackmailing her with Emma’s possible conviction of murder should she ever disobey his orders.
@rafakruczek5622 Жыл бұрын
@@EdgardoJCruz-dk5kv No, murder just to get a blackmail material doesn't make much sense. I think that was other way around. They all got high profile case they had to close,but during itterogation of suspect it was clear that they don't have any evidence to arrest. So when suspect escaped , and Gant found them uncouncious he arranged situation to frame the suspect , and getiing blackmail material and freeing Procecutor job were accidental bonuses. But it wasn't presented that way in the game...
@BenSpace Жыл бұрын
@@rafakruczek5622I disagree. It felt like it was presented in-game pretty clearly as to what Gant’s intentions were. Yeah, a part of the reason he did it was so that he could make the suspect guilty, but it definitely wasn’t an accident that he also blackmailed Lana using it. He saw an opportunity and took it, he tampered with evidence outside of just “moving the bodies around” and he went out of his way to set up failsafes in the event that he got exposed. Not to mention he also killed Marshall’s brother JUST to get his ways. If he only did it to frame the suspect and nothing else, then it’s slightly less morally incorrect (though he still killed an innocent man just to do that so…) but the way it’s presented in-game (from when Gant explains himself at the end of the case I think?) implies that he was doing it more for the blackmail than actually getting the suspect convicted.
@shincci Жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure Gant also killed Neil as he was desperate to convict Darke (probably bc by Ace Attorney logic they wouldn't have enough evidence for several enough punishment). Like he saw it as necessary sacrifice for greater good. He, in all his twistedness, does seem to genuinely hate criminals and Darke sure needed to be caught and convicted for all his crimes (not that it justified killing Neil). And because Goodman tried to reopen the case he killed him in panic of possibility of being found out, especially since Jake was so determined finding out the truth of his brother's death and wouldn't let go of the case. Also blackmailing & controlling Lana was likely only another reason for him framing Ema, as him making it seem like Ema killed Neil instead of Darke, chances of people finding out he was true culprit would be smaller.
@irisidem6580 Жыл бұрын
my personal headcanon was that gant was behind the serial killings, which would fit with the tortured conjecture tying darke to the murders.

Is there any kind of benefit to setting up a premiere? As an audience, it feels better to have a video shadowdropped instead of having to wait (or maybe a sense of waiting) for the premiere
@Aiaibori1 Жыл бұрын
I personally prefer having it shadowdropped too, but sometimes I miss new uploads in the middle of my subscriptions. A premiere guarantees that you won't see the thumbnail only on the day the video is uploaded, so it gets harder to miss or forget it. At least that's how I make sense of it =P

Basically he was desperate to get Darke convicted (because apparently there wouldn't have been enough evidence by Ace Attorney logic I guess), so he saw sacrificing him as justified reason. He also framed Ema to both cover his tracks and be able to blackmail & control Lana.
