We have been using our Roger-on for two months. Agree with everything you said. One thing you missed: both my wife and I can both use the device at the same time. Great in while watching tv or in a FaceTime or zoom call (needed some extra adaptors for iPad and iPhone jacks). Also when out in public, if we are side by side and listening to the same conversation :)

I'm fortunate in that I get my hearing aids and hearing care through the VA here in the US. I recently got new Phonak Lumity hearing aids and the Roger On device. Quite frankly, it is nothing short of amazing. Thank you for a detailed look at this device.

Hello, I also have a Lumity device, and I ordered a Roger On device. Not the Roger On In device, but the regular Roger On device. Will they work together?

I have Phonak hearing aid and Roger On V2. Frankly it is better than nothing, but certainly not worth what I paid for it. My bone conduction head set cost 1/10 and is just as good if not better for watching TV. It is way over priced.

Interesting Pat, thanks for your contribution. Whilst I actually think the quality is pretty spectacular in noisy environments, I completely agree it is very overpriced. Especially when you compare it to other manufacturers offerings like the Widex SoundAssist or Resound MultiMic - they offer much better value. I'm not sure why it is so expensive. The manufacturer will say it is all about the R&D etc... but the cynic in me would say it's actually because the Phonak Roger systems are geared very much towards education and workplaces. With these places, it is often someone else paying for the equipment and not individuals... I may be incorrect, but I can't see another reason it is 3 times more expensive than the rest.

No - Roger devices are for hearing aids. They need a Roger ‘receiver’ in the hearing aid itself switched on.

I use my roger on with my implant device and notice when people are talking from my left and right side the sound is balanced . Also noticed a more fuller sound.

Hi, thanks for such an informative video. I work in w noise factory always using ear defenders i have difficulty hearing voice with aids switched off. I am aware if roger on abilitues, and those that have done work place assments sau a roger mic will help. I have also been told but canot confirm due to the close proximity of the two people having cinversation it will not matter who wears the roger on. I am also aware its been done on several iccasions but cant find anything to confirm. Are you aware of it being done. If i can confirm it works my employer will meet all the costs , just need to confirm. And advice apreciated thanks

What is the difference between roger on in ,and roger on ,also as a hearing aid user could I purchase this without paying the vat?

Hi Andrew, the Roger On In and the Roger On are essentially the same product. However the Roger On In includes two receivers that can be transferred wirelessly to your Phonak/Unitron hearing aids. You need these receivers to pick up the transmission from the Roger On. The Roger On (not the Roger On In) doesn't come with these receivers, so you would need to buy these separately - but this might be useful if you are using non Phonak/Unitron devices and have a physical receiver. The Roger On and other wireless streaming devices can be purchased VAT free as long as they are for domestic/personal use!

Would you see this (Roger On) as an option to Bicros. I am SSD with declining hearing in the “good” ear. I have a Kirkland Signature aid that I use for with iPhone. Great quality IMO.

Hi there. It’s certainly an option worth trying and I have heard people do this before with other remote microphones (Resound Mini Mic) as an alternative to BICROS. Sometimes this is because the manufacturer doesn’t have a CROS as is the case with Resound. The best thing you can do is find an audiologist to try it out and compare with the CROS option.

Wondering if you had like a strap that you could attach the Roger on to on bicept area on deaf side would it get over Head shadow effect

@@tonyquinlan7341potentially. But it would have to not be in automatic mode, as the accelerometer would place it into remote microphone mode in this scenario. In general we use it in addition to a CROS rather than an alternative to. We’ve set up several users with Unitron BICROS systems and the Roger ON with massive success.

Very much so. They aren’t quite the same, but if it’s for daily personal use (rather than education)- Resound have the multimic and Widex have SoundAssist both of which are superb alternatives at around a third of the cost.

hello! It will work, but you will need to have a Roger Receiver installed onto the Lumity device. This is done using a device called the Roger Installer. This little device will come with the receivers on that you wirelessly transfer to the Lumity. That’s the difference between Roger On and Roger On In - the In comes with the receivers which you wirelessly transfer to the device.
