Clacking Computer I would disagree. Cameras like the G85, GH5 and Olympus OMD E1 Mark II are keeping it alive. Even DJI is still going strong with micro 4/3.

Clacking Computer As much as I hate Micro 4/3rds, I think it's going to be the sensor for drones now and in the future. Inspire 2 already uses it.

+Jared Polin Now (same setup) make a video explaining Megapixel to Sensor ratio ie: Full Frame with 30MP+ may not be as good in low light as a 12MP Full Frame
@nevakee7167 жыл бұрын
Bored Amish nope you are wrong, MP have nothing to do with noise on global noise on the whole sensor. It will only be noisier if you zoom 1:1 into both. The diffence of between to camera is only about crop factor and technology of the sensor to handle noise
@JG-bh9rz7 жыл бұрын
What are you on about Mathias, a full frame sensor with a lower megapixel count means each pixel is larger and therefore captures more light, hence why the A7S II full frame but only 12mp is much better in lowlight than the 42mp A7R 2. The cameras will have noise reduction built in but anyone who doesn't want their photos to turn to mush will turn it off and only add it in post if necessary

sir, can i use the same lens for a aps-c mirroless to aps-c dslr? or do i need a adaptor?
@iggytse6 жыл бұрын
It is not just the size. The dynamic range, low light performance and colour science also need to be taken into consideration. And I truely believe the progress that has been made in recent years is due to the sensor improvements in smart phones as instagram became popular. I remember being blown away by the image quality from my Canon G1X bridge camera compared to an older Nikon D90 I had the opportunity to use at an event. I just couldn’t get the image to look good in camera in the D90 and switch back to the G1X.

thanks for the comment. I wont speak to the differences of depth of field in this beginner stuff as it adds to the confusion. I've mentioned it with the cell phone videos in the past but don't want to confuse people.

Why do people complain? What the heck want to know in just 5 minutes? An encyclopedia of what is available on the market? This is basics for people who are new into photography and get confused seeing almost feature-film documentaries on sensor sizes and all, instead of shooting and being creative.

Hmmm 1" and 1/3" are not actually 1 inch and a third of an inch but much smaller. Why are they still named like that?
@froknowsphoto7 жыл бұрын
+Simon Amyot-Bourgeois that I've asked a million times before as well. Still not sure exactly
@simonamyot-bourgeois69827 жыл бұрын
from wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_sensor_format "Sensor sizes are expressed in inches notation because at the time of the popularization of digital image sensors they were used to replace video camera tubes. The common 1" circular video camera tubes had a rectangular photo sensitive area about 16mm diagonal, so a digital sensor with a 16 mm diagonal size was a 1" video tube equivalent. The name of a 1" digital sensor should more accurately be read as "one inch video camera tube equivalent" sensor. Current digital image sensor size descriptors are the video camera tube equivalency size, not the actual size of the sensor. For example, a 1" sensor has a diagonal measurement of 16mm." ok now I sort of get it

Considering the technological advances to the APS-C sensors recently, you can really boost up the ISO without much noise. And there's little difference in image quality between APS-C and full frame sensors unless you're making huge prints. My APSC camera of choice is the Sony a6500, which I love. After shooting Jpegs for years, I just began shooting in raw, and honestly, it makes a difference and the time it takes in Lightroom to post process wasn't as long as I thought it would be.

Hot Takes I agree but like Sal Cincotta photographers get a huge ego in forget about the client in make it more about there skills. I watch the video he was destruct a tad. Sharpness & contrast is awesome if use correctly. Gritty is cool but that dam gritty..lol

it's a video for beginners, what beginner has a medium format camera?
@nbrooks17997 жыл бұрын
Josh Boddington David Beckam's son who got given Hasselblad and a photography contract by an American fashion mag.
@JG-bh9rz7 жыл бұрын
Yes because he'll be watching this video and has so much in common with the majority of people... plus Brooklyn was into photography long before he got that job.
@nbrooks17997 жыл бұрын
Josh Boddington Ther is a huge difference between 'being into photography' and having an iphone and an instagram account! I beleive that shoot with the Hasselblad was gis first PAID shoot and all of the images are crap. Why would a beginer want to go into full-frame? Oh wait because they have money burning a whole in their pocket and want to get into a hobby. Hence why not medium format? Or 5x4?
@JG-bh9rz7 жыл бұрын
Nicholas Brooks is really going to lengthen a video or confuse the huge majority of viewers who will start with the cameras shown by talking about medium format, which 99% aren't even going to use. And lastly, the whole 'you're a beginner until you've been paid to shoot is bs' he'd had cameras before that and he knows how to use them, he's off to study photography at uni mate. It seems to me you're just salty that he has these opportunities and you don't. If the images suck so much why don't you go and shoot for Burberry? Oh wait, they wouldn't fucking hire you
@scotthullinger99556 жыл бұрын
Uh, sensor size does NOT determine how much light is gathered on the sensor. That's what the f/stop of the lens does, either a fast maximum aperture, or a slow one.
