Some people get ''OMG'' nuts over these strange over-edited, photoshopped pics on social media. And then i see a pretty pic without any edits, just the way it is, realisticly beautiful. And nobody cares. That's when i believe that society is just nuts. A horse is pretty by itself. It doesn't have to be a unicorn.
@aphromew45026 жыл бұрын
very surprised for Peter to knock color splashing because he's always super positive about expression. If you want to splash colors with black and white, go do it. If it speaks to you, do it. It may be cliche (dont think it is) but you need to find that out for yourself. If you think its dope in the moment, do it. You may think its silly 10 years from now, but it is imperative to your growth that YOU decide how to express yourself and not to let other people do it for you. All the other advice is sound imo.

I personally dont completely agree with the "avoid cliches as much as possible" one.. I find taking the idea of a cliche and maybe altering it or building on it can turn out really good depending on the shot, and you can ask a client "are you sure that's what you want? That ideas a little dated" or whatever but ultimately if they're going to love the photo and get exactly what they ask for, I think that's part of customer satisfaction... maybe present them with the edit they wanted and then a version you think is better at the end and maybe they'll choose the one they never knew they wanted, but often they're paying you to help bring their creative ideas to life- at least at the beginning of your photography career. Just my 2 cents.
@jacktaylor76966 жыл бұрын
My feelings were ruffled too! For a client in any industry it's about meeting their needs. I think its important to try different things. Trends come in and out of vogue. Houses in Australia had timber veneer on walls in the 70s. Internal brick in the 80s. Floral tiles in the 90s with skirting boards. Purple feature walls in the 2000s. Now its back to white, grey and blacks with floating timber floors. But now they have these horrid metallic kettles and toasters in shops that look all bright red, blue green, yellow etc so we've gone back to the 70s again. Blehh!

You sir, are my favorite tutor! You have the best edits which are very easy to follow along with. I would also like to add that when I'm editing a scene, I tend to look deep into the picture and see it with my peripheral, and feel the colors, brightness, contrast etc.. I also tend to use the same method in painting and sculpting. I try to let my subconscious do as much as possible and it seems to always guide me the right way. Welp, just throwing that idea out there.. hope everyone has a good one!

This is SO TRUE especially with color grading videos these days. I see sooo many people trying to go for the “orange and teal” look yet it’s wayyy over edited and looks worse. To be honest I don’t know how to do the orange and teal look but I’d rather not make my footage look worse with trying to be fancy 🤷🏻♂️
@theothomas55466 жыл бұрын
you get the orange and teal look by using the camera calibration sliders...blue to the left and red to the right, play with the saturations to make the skin tones and other things within the photo look right

Hi There... amazing tutorial. I am guilty of those all things as well and even now sometimes I have to slap my hands for pushing those buttons too far as well. One thing I have to tell you though... the audio is great, sometimes watch out for the "P" sound as it pops.. BUT... the videos are now lot les personal, there is only the same wall behind you. I think people love you because of the way you did your videos very personally. Sometimes you showed the studio or street and such... I liked the wall in last video... now it is getting a bit boring... careful with it so you don't drive away some of your viewers. I think you are amazing and I enjoy watching your videos, I just feel I need to express that... you worked very hard for it.
