Something I have added to my gear recently that I never thought I would ….trekking poles. Turns out I really like using them. I walk much faster over sketchy terrain, use them for steep downhills carrying all the camera gear. They really help with balance instead of having to grab on to roots and trees etc. on the steep stuff.

You are in my neck of the woods I live in Harding Pa, We have about 11" above normal rain fall be careful in the woods trees are falling all the time .The colors not as good as normal with the warm temp no frost yet. Have a get time can't wait for the pictures.

The waterfalls were all running pretty nicely. But I know what you mean about the soft ground. I leaned on a tree and it almost fell on Eric's head. I had to hold it up until he moved. The ground was like mush. Bill

Thanks for all your reviews! I picked up an M50 and SO dang easy to travel with it. Got some beautiful sunrise and fall leaf shots in Maine a few weeks ago and that camera is great for travel (from left coast). Thanks guys!

Hi Nancy, mine is an EDDSI cheapo backpack off of Amazon. I think I paid $65 for it. I'm not sure of the model number that Eric uses but his is a much nicer low pro bag. He might have done a video about it if you want to look back through.

I hope you guys got to Resica Falls. Access is SUPER easy. 😊 I've been there with my boys twice for Boy Scout Camp. I know it's technically closed on Sundays, but I can't imagine you couldn't see them on Sundays though. The camp may be closed, but it would be hard to block access to the falls.

Hey Tom, they actually had the driveway chained off so we really couldn't get in. We went back the next morning and took some photos of it. The problem I think this year is they had those big storms in the summer and there's so many downed trees at all of the waterfalls it almost looks like somebody dropped a bunch of toothpicks on a toy waterfall. We did the best we could but most of the falls we saw this year were a bit messy and unphotogenic.

@@BillEricPhotography That's a shame. I remember Resica as being a pretty nice waterfall. Not super tall, but otherwise quite nice. I hope some of those falls get cleaned out.

Me too, it was really a mess and a lot of areas. One of the parks that we wanted to go to that had a lot of falls was completely closed. We found some drone footage on KZbin of what it looks like right now. It looks like a tornado went through it

It really is. The best I’ve ever used.

@@BillEricPhotography I started out many years ago with Canon A1 film camera, moved to EOS 630, then 7D, on to the 5DM3, and finally the 5Ds. Thought the 50 mpxls on the latter were incredible (and they certainly were). But the R5 looks them all in the eye and says, “hold my beer.” The 45 mpxls in the R5 seem to be an entirely new level of resolution. I also love the low light performance on this camera. I never shoot above 12,800 ISO-no worries with the R5; images on the 5Ds were dead above 6400.
