Snow, light pollution, multiple light fixtures, or an all-white building can all create reflective light, causing a light fixture with an electronic photocontrol / photocell to cycle rapidly or strobe ON and OFF.
This video will show you how to adjust your Intermatic fixed-mount photocontrol / photocell and fine-tune ON/OFF triggering by using the included lens stickers, plastic dome, or metal bracket. We’ll demonstrate various solutions based on the intensity of the light and type of photocontrol.

This video did not address the strobing or on-off issues. In addition, the wiring instructions for these are completely useless. When will companies ever learn to ask a guy off the street to read their instructions and install a product before they sign off on their technical writer's efforts?

I just installed 27 photo controllers ek4536 locking type and 2 are flickering during full day light. Tried reversing polarity and moving the controller to different light the controller worked fine.

I agree I had one that worked great for about 8 months and it also just died. It looked like very good quality. Mine is the stem and swivel on that is hooked to a light switch. The switch still works the lights but it does not shut off during the day as it used to. :(. Is that usual for these or just this brand?

Does not address photocell staying on later than it should. Master electrician here. Have tried tilting the photocell in multiple directions and even installed a new unit. East facing with no shade, makes no sense. Have exact same photocell on same light in the front and turn on times are 3-4 hours different

Total garbage, I got one last fall, it quit 8 months later. Plug in sensor has been going for 2 years now no problem, the only issue is that I have to reset it to dawn-to-dusk setting every time power fails.
