When Jessica was talking about how celebrities have a whole team behind them to make them look good and that we shouldn't feel bad about our own looks bc of it, it got me thinking. Wouldn't that be very damaging to these celebrities psychologically? They know the truth and they also know that they can't even fit into this impossible standard of beauty. There was actually a model who basically said something like this at one point, I'm pretty sure it was Cindy Crawford??? I know this thread is old (but so is my example) remember when Brittany Spears released the un-retouched images of her from her perfume print ad? (She did so because she was shocked by the final result and not only felt it was disingenuous but extremely outside the realm of reality.) What's worse is only a few people actually acknowledged her for doing it and instead body shamed her. "If I was her I'd never let that photo see the light of day. She should be grateful they fixed it for her." Or "That's just gross, look at her cottage cheese thighs - how is being frumpy supposed to 'help' young girls again? Don't let yourself go and end up looking like that?" For the record; I was never a big Brittany Spears™ fan - but that was an important stance she took and the only "gross" or "disgusting" thing about it was the general consensus that it's better to have photos altered past what is even possible than to see a real person.

The thing that bothers me with these versus photos is that the “reality” is often the person speaking or in motion or a very different angle. I’m so sorry to hear that! 😿 I struggle with self acceptance too, and what helps me is keeping in mind that not only the images are fake, celebs themselves are fake and they spend a lot of money on plastic surgeries, cosmetic procedures etc. Also the whole point of the industry is to make you feel insecure, in order for you to spend money on whatever it is. They are creating new “issues” and “wrongs” in people’s appearance so that they spend money on surgery, estheticians, skincare, makeup, editing apps etc. There’s nothing wrong with any of us, we all are beautiful, we’re just being told every minute from Instagram, ads or anywhere else that we look wrong and we need to change something. Insecurity makes people do things they wouldn’t do otherwise, so please be careful with choosing what to believe in, in the lies to make a profit out of you or in your worth and beauty. I hope your self image will recover soon and you will be able to accept yourself 🙏🏼 Your profile pic looks gorgeous btw. Please take care of your mental health and don’t let some greedy shallow people trying to feed off the insecurities get into your head 💕

I don't really follow people on Instagram. I know they spend hours trying to look perfect and fool the world. It's not worth it. Be your own beautiful self.

the reason kylie’s skin has that weird texture is because somebody put that photo into an app called Remini where it re-defines photos and has certain textures for each part of a body that it repeatedly uses. It had a very recognizable look.

Another great video! I only started lightly retouching my photos because it appeared like no one on social media had under-eye bags or acne scars. Didn't take into account that most of them have been using facetune and other apps to change things too

Even with dodge and burn you gotta clone stamp , that sometimes takes away texture

I love this, learning so much Jessica. Anyone love the calmness of her voice and how she makes fun of herself, she's so funny. "Look at my skin" she says haha same. The only thing I'm touching up is this monstrous acne. Keep on with these investigations ur the best in the bizzz!!!

The awkward moment when you are from Croatia and you see Maja Šuput (the Croatian singer) on Jessica`s video XD XD XD XD believe me, Maja the singer, sometimes has so much make up on her face that you would need Hubble to see the skin texture even if photoshop is not used at all XD XD XD

I feel like if you're photo shopping your face to the extent that you don't even look like yourself you're not only lying to others but you're lying to yourself and that isn't healthy to do that to yourself.

Well-chosen explanation THIS tells me why they use exact same photos for tons of blogs or topic we get stuck with same photo, because they paid so much to perfect it, now they play their card and a stupid game

The skin texture may have been altered by Topaz, which will still keep texture of the skin and you can use a secondary layer to lightly bring back features. Today there are other editing software's to create a lot of changes fast. Youd be surprised how post editing today can really be done in a way you really dont need expensive setups and still get a professional end result.

Did they shrink Kylie's head in the second photo? The proportions look off, but it could definitely be the angle too.

I am a graphic artist and photographer, I usually take on the racetrack, and high speed. Not too many humans, but I did show my teen this yt channel. She was not shocked but now she knows what to look for. My images are usually to get the car with the smudge tool for background and enhanced sponsor logos. It is much easier to shoot in lighting outdoors and my enemy is the sun glare. Lol thanks for doing this. It helps to show the youngsters how much money, time and work goes into effecting the faces.
