I also think that if they somehow managed to look more toddler-like, they'd get criticism for that too, like "you're supposed to be a model. Yes, it seems like their was some cross talk and misconceptions behind the scenes. The Jenner girls were dressed to be Wednesday Adams twins and Kris was also in a gothic style outfit, but everything else was super bright colors. None of the models had anything remotely resembling toddleresque style outfits. Half of them wore what looked like 1950's style undergarments. How are they supposed to appear like toddlers? I too thought the theme seemed fetishistic when they said it, but I think ended up being more some sort of quasi-Gothic/infantilization Horror theme.

Inconsistent expectations is a strategy used by abusers to keep their victims in a constant state of anxiety. Imagine a kid growing up in a house with a mom who acted like that: > Kid is doing homework > Mom comes in screaming about how the sink is full of dirty dishes, the laundry isn't done, and the garbage needs taking out > Child rushes to clean dishes, do the laundry, and take out the trash > A few hours later, mom comes in and asks the kid if they finished their homework; the kid hasn't, they were too busy cleaning > Mom screams at child for not finishing homework before bedtime > Child exists in a constant state of anxiety, wanting to please their mom but never knowing how I know about it because my mom grew up in a household like that, broke the cycle of abuse, and was honest with me about toxic people growing up, so I developed a very keen eye for dysfunctional relationship dynamics. It's amazing how many of them I've seen regularly used in reality tv.

Oh, I should say that the purpose of keeping a victim in a state of anxiety with inconsistent expectations is a way to keep them subservient. Anxiety clouds rational thinking, because it's basically the hindbrain (associated with instinct and basic survival) sounding off alarm bells that there is a life-threatening emergency you need to deal with. If you're constantly worried about pleasing an abusive parent, or abusive reality tv host and judging panel, then it's harder to critically examine your relationship with them and realize that you need to either change things or get out of the situation.

Idk if it would be a positive thing. I've heard from past season contestants in multiple interviews that this show is damaging to their modeling careers. Not sure how it would be for the photographer though, but a ton of the models said that they weren't getting booked for jobs after the show and the reasons they were being told was that ANTM was not respected by the modeling industry and didn't actually teach them anything useful. Obviously I've never been on the show or know anyone personally, I just know something has to be up when a lot of girls have that same story. I would not want you to get any negative repercussions from being a part of the show. You're too wonderful and such a sweetheart. Love your kind, caring personality!! 💚💚💚

This is actually my favorite shoot, based just on the concept. I think it's so weird and campy and I love everything about it. I love the creepy aspects, the childlike set, the kids that are still acting like toddlers with the two Wednesday's, I love all of it. I don't know why ppl don't like the concept 😭 I think it's so unique and I could look at these pictures all day which is the point of good photos. I wish I could do a shoot like this.

It’s an interesting photo shoot definitely not something they would have to do in real life, but it’s definitely a photo shoot that would get them out of their comfort zone.
