What baffles me Gary, you have more photographic skill, expertise and knowledge than a large handful of other popular KZbin photographers put together, yet your subs don't reflect this. They get worshipped for not understanding their gear and wasting opportunities, you always deliver no matter how harsh the conditions yet, you don't seem to get the credit you deserve. I do wonder sometimes if it's an age thing, hey ho, their loss. Incredible work as always and amazing images, thanks for sharing. PS I know it's not a competition but you deserve far more recognition.
@GaryGough4 жыл бұрын
Very kind of you to say. None taken ref the age thing btw :) It's all about click-bait titles. A lot of so-called photographers simply create click-bait videos just so they do well on KZbin. This is why I warn people about listening to incorrect regurgitated nonsense. It's just one of those things. As long as you are here listening to my babbling on a weekly basis then that's all that matters to me 👍

@@GaryGough As someone who's coming up to their 57th birthday I've struggled getting work as I relocated a couple of years ago and I see age prejudice pretty much everywhere in my quest for work (non photographic). What really gets me on KZbin is some people getting massive recognition for their photographic exploits yet they often demonstrate a distinct lack of knowledge re their understanding of the fundamentals of photography yet others see them as experts and hang on their every word, maybe now I'm showing my age, lol.
@GaryGough4 жыл бұрын
We're now officially now old friends 😊😊 I for one are happy with that 👍
@captaindebug4 жыл бұрын
I suspect that it's all about the KZbin algorithm: play the KZbin game and your video gets presented to more people and, hopefully, you get more subscribers. I suspect that Gary doesn't really play that game, and just makes the best videos he can. Besides, I also suspect that it's all about quality of subscribers, not the quantity.

Great video shots and stills Gary. One of your best. The sound at 9:45 is probably a grey seal (you've captured a few of them in the water a minute or so later). They are hauled out onto the shoreline for pupping just now. When there is a large colony of them "singing" in chorus it is one of the eeriest sounds you'll ever hear.

Not having back to Scotland for a couple of years now it's good to see your tour of the area, brings back good memories from many familiar places. Keep doing the good work. The only negative I will make is that on some of the drone footage the quality is not up to your normal standards - maybe too low rez or too compressed, more of a water colour look. Apart from that a big thumbs up.
