Summer is my favourite time of the year for landscape photography one of the reasons are noctilucent clouds or "night shining clouds". This rare phenomenon occurs only in a short window over a months time around summer solstice. This year, I finally got to photograph them again. During the video I share a whole host of summer night photography techniques to get clean and sharp photos and I share some time lapses of the mesmerising noctilucent clouds!

Great video as always, but I really shouldn't have played a drinking game where I drank a shot every time Mads said "noctilucent clouds”. The ambulance should be here soon. 😉

Thank you Mads for capturing those magical moments, so, so beautiful. I have wanted to photograph noctilucent clouds for decades and I have just never got round to doing it. It's something I must do, I just know I have to; the wonder of nature, it doesn't get any more beautiful than this.

Ah, I was lucky this year to capture some noctilucent clouds when not expecting it! I got some shots of the clouds together with moving trains leaving light trails, making for some nice images.

Loved this. I’ve KZbin posts about this before but being a city boy I just watched with envy of people that lived in areas where this can be seen. Last I moved to a small village and this this year I got my wife out of bed to see this for the first time. Beautiful is the only word. Next year I’m gonna find some locations to photograph them. Cheers Mads ❤

Out of interest (I may have missed you say it), are those photos taken facing due north? Or towards sunset....beautiful photos anyway
@oneandonlyjaybee
@oneandonlyjaybee 28 күн бұрын
They are usually in the north, above where the sun has already set or is due to rise (so from north west to north east) however really good displays can cover overhead. They appear usually around 90 minutes after sunset and again around 90 minutes before sunrise

I don't know why you don't get a DJI pocket three camera much better footage much better in lowlight 20 mm Works perfect honestly mads love your videos dude but get the DJI pocket three it's an amazing little camera and it will make it a lot easier to do your videos I love this shop by the way shooting single trees on a mountain is a really really simple composition and I do it all the time. Thanks for the video.
