Great atmosphere and composition Ben, are you able to share the 'what3words' for the general area? many thanks.

Nice mate. I found a great patch the other week and had a great time photographing them. Fab. Thanks

They are a great subject aren’t they, and this year (in this area anyway) was a particularly dense crop.

Lovely video Ben, and great shots. I've never photographed wild garlic before, it's a great idea. I wonder what it'd be like in IR...? PS - those wild garlic leaves are tasty stirred into pasta...
@benharveyphotography7 ай бұрын
I have actually been out shooting IR with my cargo lens this morning. I suspect that the leaves would glow white and it would lack contrast because the bud is also white, that said if you had dappled light in the woods that could create some interest. Another photographer said that his wife made him some delicious pesto with the leaves, I can imagine if I took some leave home to my wife and asked her to make me something tasty with them she would throw them back at me! Haha I am no chef, I will stick to architecture, photography and making cocktails.

@@benharveyphotography c'mon, it's easy, I'll give you a recipe. Actually it's no harder than stirring the leaves into cooked pasta and letting it wilt like spinach.

The conditions are stunning with a blanket of wild garlic. The images are sublime, Ben!

Cheers Paul, I got very lucky with the conditions that morning. The images were a combination of two visits actually, the macro shots were second visit when it was raining, and I actually quite enjoyed being out in the rain shooting images.

Lovely vid and some fabulous shots. It’s such a special area. I did chuckle at some of the comments on this… 😂

The light rays breaking through the mist were a bit mad, and very tricky to capture on camera. We all got very lucky with the misty conditions this year plus the dense crop. Tough to beat!

Nice images Ben and nice to see someone enjoying the bluebell/garlic season. I've not ventured to any woodlands this year as its been a hectic month and been working on my images from Tenerife and catching up on some printing and other photography related tasks. Also prepping for a day in Birmingham next weekend as this might be my last time there for a while so looking at some new subjects online to see if they could be part of the architectural collection

There is no substitute for doing the research before you get to a location. I tend to fill my itinerary with too much and maybe get 60-70% of the shots that I actually wanted to get, but I prefer that to running out of ideas/locations to visit when new locations. Enjoy Birmingham!

I think the photos are great and I especially like the sun rays. It looks like a beautiful morning to be out with a camera and I’m glad you made the video.

Cheers Clark, I am glad I made the video in the end, and it was a really good year for wld garlic this year and I don’t think many people have access to a really good wild garlic woodland like this.

What a terrific place! Jealous. The streaming light rays were spectacular, great images. I love the scene in the video focused on the spider web dripping with mist while you walked the path left to right. Nicely done. Happy trails!

Thanks Brian, we had some amazing conditions that morning and thanks for noticing the spider web shot. I spend ages setting up the camera, so glad that you appreciated that :-)

Garlic olives at six? why not? Mind you last time I had wild garlic at home, washed and cooked, got the runs! But live life dangerously anyways. Lovely video again, thanks for sharing.

Thanks Victor. That’s how people will remember me, he used to live dangerously, having garlic olives as 6am! 😂
