Hi Mike. Good to see you are discovering what us Fuji X photographers have known for a while now. These camera's are very capable and just great to use. When I traveled with my big DSLR's, my image count would be around 600-800 over a 2 week period. On my last trip I took only my Fuji X-Pro1 and X100s to Paris for 1 week then London the following week. This was the biggest trip of my life and I trusted these 2 cameras to do the job for me. I came back with well over 3500 pictures. With these smaller cameras, it is just so easy always having 1 or both along every time you leave the hotel room and you just want to shoot as soon as you get out the door. These cameras (not just Fuji's but any of the high quality mirrorless) are the perfect tool for the traveler and they won't leave you wanting more on the quality side either. I could go on and on but I've already babbled too much as it is. Thanks for the great videos. Always looking forward to whats next.

I have the X-E2 which is essentially the X-T1 with a slightly different body and an X100s. I've since sold all of my dslr gear and haven't looked back. Fuji is awesome and is a company that actually listens to its customers and fans. Lugging my dslr around was a pain, but I take my fujis out everywhere. Image and color rendition is outstanding and images are clean to 3200 ISO.

Well, THAT was close. At 4:10 in the clip, we see Mike approached by a zombie, which are known to possess a fascination with mirrorless cameras. Courteous and unflappable, Mike calmly continues his presenting while the zombie moves into position for a bite on the clerk's wrist. Oddly, however, no carnage occurs, and the zombie shambles off after hovering hungrily for a few seconds. My only theory is that the smell of the bread (food for the living) interfered with the zombie's olfactory system, momentarily short-circuiting its bloodlust. Mike, clearly aware this would occur, remains calm and masterfully directs the group to proceed on to the sausage stand. Nicely done.

Nicely handled (re guy with bag!!) I guess the good points are that these compact cameras are, well, compact, but still provide the full camera options. But, and for me it's a big thing, I can't stand the LED viewfinder or using the LED screen on the back of a camera. For me, I'll keep the DSLR. By the way, nicely edited too! Great new software.

The only down side of Mirrorless cameras is really in the sports/wildlife department especially if the camera only has contrast detect (which is far better for still photography) compared to phase detect on a dslr. I use a GX7 and the image quality is fantastic from a sensor the size it is on micro 4/3. I wouldn't use it for fast moving subjects but portraits, landscapes and stills its hard to beat when you take into account the size/weight ratio.
@zorglub7610 жыл бұрын
I have sony a6000 and the focus is really great. It has on-sensor phase detection sensors and tracks subjects while moving. I'm not a pro, and never had those "X" ff cameras that Nikon and Canon produce, but I guess that in ~10 years we could expect electronics to take over mechanics (say 60fps with pdaf tracking, which is something mirrors could never do). The only downside I see with (Sony) mirrorless cameras is that they don't want them to replace DSLRs. All the lenses are produced with "size over quality" philosophy - so no f2.8 tele zooms and, in general, no big lenses. That is a shame, because it cripples otherwise great little cameras.

Just watching photography tips with Bella West. I notice you are holding the reflector. I wish I had some photographer friends in Liverpool to learn from to be honest. Only so many flowers and bees I can photograph. To be honest I drifted into still photography from being a fringe actor and film maker. I realised that to get good at film making at 24 frames per second I needed to learn more about lighting and composition and tell a story in less than one second. I now always take my camera when I am rehearsing a play. My photography is improving but now I tend to forget my lines. Its a strange progression but would just love to get better at 56 years of age.

Great video! Rumor has it that with these new cameras you don't need to shoot in RAW. Greetings from France ;-)
@Jigsaw40710 жыл бұрын
That would only be true if they would extend the JPG format as they plan to. Until then you can't beat having 4,096 levels of brightness information per color channel (12 bit RAW), instead of a meager 256 levels per color channel in JPG. Even with a new camera like that you can't make up for the severe lack of data in JPG, which also uses lossy compression, affecting image quality negatively the very second it's being saved.
@MaxArceus10 жыл бұрын
Jigsaw407 fit files go up to 32768 levels of brightness, I'd say that beats RAW.
@Minoltalphafan10 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Fuji Xtrans sensor cameras make JPEG files that are amazing.
@doctorlovera10 жыл бұрын
Due to the nature of Jpegs the restricted amount of data is matched to the human eye hability. The Raw formats are capable of much more information, information that you dont see but you can use in edition, so the Raw is very useful for extractng the real potential of a picture. There are big advantages editing Raw over editing Jpegs. But if you will not edit your files, then the size of jpeg is the clear winner. Grettings from colombia. J'habite en Colombie
@berto199910 жыл бұрын
The raw is always better than jpeg. Shooting in raw is not a whim, but it is a great option, it’s the professional option. The raw file is the the image sensor: when you edit a raw photo it is as if you would shoot that picture again, a second time, without losing details. The processing(editing) of a photo is always a destructive process. The raw format is almost "indestructible". With raw you get the highest level of quality and brightness, you can better adjust white balance, colors, lights and shadows. Finally: the software of a computer converts raw fotos in jpeg fotos BETTER than any software of any cameras.

So that red haired bloke seemed annoying... Usually I'd use more colourful language to describe people like that :P Image quality looks pretty nice! Sure they are just JPEGs straight out of the camera but most high end mirrorless systems have APS-C sensors and the Sony even has a 35mm sensor, so image quality shouldn't be an issue anyway. But still, something strikes me as a little off about them... I noticed the way you are holding them. Your hand just barely fits on them, that would be too small for me. For me the perfect mirrorless camera would be DSLR shaped, which kind of defeats the purpose^^
