And then I didn't even get it right - I had to slightly straighten the horizon in Lightroom🤦🏻♂️

Hey so I'm currently studying abroad and want to get into taking pictures more and was thinking of getting a camera to take some memorable pictures, but I have no idea where to start. Ideally a camera that is good for street photography but has some versatility for studio shots as I'm a design student. Would you recommend the gx80? 6:05 If I had to take a guess 🤔, I would say it is because the 50mm (100mm ff equivalent) lens renders the perspective in the image quite flat due to compression and therefore you miss a little extra "pop" in your subject like in your other shots. Otherwise, I found the orangey bits in the trees and the yellow hay bales, contrasting with the greens from the trees and the grass, to result in a very pleasing backdrop. 🤗 Maybe the image would be complete if you change the colour of your jacket in Photoshop to something more reddish, which should add some separation.
@teocrawford4 жыл бұрын
hmm possibly, although I'm not sure if it's that, because I actually often enjoy the flat almost graphical look🤔 But thanks anyway🤗

I bought this cam a few days ago :D How did you do these wide angle shots and which lense did you use?
@teocrawford4 жыл бұрын
None of these photos were very wide angle🤔 - from the two lenses I had the wider one was the 20mm f/1.7 (FullFrame equivalent to 40mm). The other one was the Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 If something looked wide angle it's probably because I stood quite far away from the subject🙌🏼

@teocrawford4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! :) I can't really answer your question, because there is no such thing as the "best" camera, it's all about personal preferences. I'm planning to make a video on budget cameras to get started with photography to post in January, but until then you can try to get an idea with an older video I made on the same topic: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWbCcqV5ic2kd68&lc=Ugwdp8aaL-yYFAlCT1p4AaABAg This video is aimed at hybrid shooters, whereas the new one I want to make at new year is more aimed at photographers - it'll come out in about a month I think :)

@teocrawford4 жыл бұрын

@teocrawford4 жыл бұрын
This depends sooo heavily on the photographer... If I were a commercial photographer I'd be a little unsure about a 16MP sensor. But for me and my artistic purposes this is more than enough...I mean I even add grain in post, which results in even less detail🤷🏻♂️ I hope this helps👀

Hey what settings do you usually use for day time landscapes like in this video? Aperture, ISO etc.. And do you shoot on the Natural profile? Love the videos!
@teocrawford4 жыл бұрын
It always depends on the light and what exactly I am shooting, but usually I keep my Aperture and ISO as low as possible. But the aperture is actually only so low, because I usually don't bother to close the aperture for landscapes, it works wide open as well :D And then I just adjust the shutterspeed accordingly to balance the exposure🙌🏼 I shoot all my photos in RAW so the picture profile actually doesn't matter - but I think I've got mine set to natural🤔 Happy to read that, thank you🙇🏻♂️
