Interesting that the mealworms seemed to leave the dragon fruit seeds alone. It could be a good method to get just the seeds, kind of like how they use beetles to clean skeletons.

Mealworms and super worms can be invasive so definitely don’t release them. Actually releasing any kind of pet / feeder in to the wild is bad bc 1. The outside environment usually isn’t suitable for them so they die 2. Worse the environment is super suitable for them and they become invasive and outcompete native species 3. They can spread disease to native species

I kind of assumed they let them breed so they always have a constant supply. I used to have a pet that ate mealworms and that's what I ended up doing. Ended up with far more than I could use though.

I know when I've thrown stuff in with my morio worm feeders, it is practically gone in record time. Is amazing to see, plus knowing they've eaten well, so my reptiles & arachnids will be getting the extra nutrition from them, makes it an even better experience.

This is so visceral! This makes me imagine some sci-fi or fantasy setting where there's a pit of hyperaggressive worms below some perilous bridge or something. One party member says something like "oh, at least theres something soft to catch us if we fall!" And a more experienced party member goes "i wouldnt be so sure" and tossed a ration into the pit to show it being devoured instantly, like this in extreme fast forward
