Thanks Dave as always! Thanks to you, I cannot even use another editor and I think I have them all. Between the TK9 panels, PS and your instructional videos, you have completely changed my editing universe. Thank you.

Excellent demonstration of the new brush. I saw another tutorial; it left me confused. You were very clean and now I understand how to use this new tool. Thanks Dave!

Finally someone approached the problem of the new brush professionally and objectively. It was a very informative film and gave a broader perspective on the new tool. Thank you for this very informative lesson and greetings from Poland from the city of "Fortress Przemyśl". Ps. I am looking forward to more films from you

I have been watching videos the last couple days on the adjustment brush. You have tucked more tips and keystroke shortcuts than anywhere else and they’re all very helpful! Thank you very much for this very informative video.

I have played with PS selection brush for a few days and prefer the TKselection brush. The only thing I would like is to have the selection overlay opacity and the selection opacity independent. So with a 100% opacity I can still see through and what is selected

Decided to play around with tool after watching the tutorial before commenting. Like you, I was surprised that you could not fill in a shape when using the Shift key to create straight lines. What I found the most useful, so far, was the ability to see the selection color highlighted using the Selection Brush from selections created by other tools. Much better than playing around using marching ants to see what needs to be added or subtracted from a selection.

Great video - loved your demonstration of the new tool. My problem has been that since the update that added this tool my remove tool is no longer working properly. About 50 or 60% of the time now the result is either a dark grey or a burnt orange color, as though it were sampling something else, even though there are no other layers. Also, my masking in ACR stopped working properly. About 80% of the time it cannot find people or objects, even in simple portraits. Adobe support provided a link to upload another version of ACR, but it only slightly improved performance, not solved it. Any ideas?

Thanks, Dave. How does a reduced opacity selection or one with a varied opacity selection function when using adjustment layers or generative fill?
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly4 ай бұрын
If you use lower opacities you will get reduced effects. Let's say you wanted to slightly darken an area of your image: Paint over the area you want to darken with a Selection Brush opacity of 10% and then add a Curves Adjustment Layer and change the blend mode to Multiply. The area you painted with the brush will be slightly darker. If you needed it to go even darker you can paint over the same area on the Layer Mask with a white brush with a low opacity to darken it more. You can use lower opacities to get better blends when adding elements to your images with Generative Fill. Let's say you have a photograph of a mountain and a lake: You can turn the photograph into a painting by painting over the entire image with say a 20% opacity brush and then give Generative Fill a prompt like (Mountain and lake painting). You can experiment with different brush opacities to come up with something that works for you.

Thanks Dave, great walk thru. On chaging the opacity and size of the brush you do not need to hold Control. Just Alt and drag with the RIGHT mouse button (at least with Windows). Keep 'em coming.
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly4 ай бұрын
Thanks for clearing that up for Windows. It must just be on MAC you need to hold Control and Option and drag left, right, up or down.

How is it different than using Quick Mask? Aside from how you access the tool, they do the same thing.

Dave, why in the tutorial does your brush appear with two concentric circles and the outer one is green? I would like to do it too. I always follow you especially on Fridays. You are very good.
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much and good question. What causes the concentric circles is my video editing software so that my brush is easier to see.

Hi Dave, please help me out......................I cannot find the new [Selection Brush Tool] I am on PS 25.11.0 and Beta 25.12. Thanks
@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly4 ай бұрын
To find the New Selection Brush Tool in Photoshop, follow these steps: Select the Lasso Tool from the toolbar. The Selection Brush Tool is nested within the Lasso Tool group. Click and hold on the Lasso Tool icon to reveal the flyout menu. Choose the Selection Brush Tool from the menu. If it doesn't show up there you can edit the Tool Bar. (Make sure you watch the beginning part of the video because I demonstrate how this is done.)

@dktraveller83644 ай бұрын
Well, it is very simple. This is a new way to make and adjust selections. Making selections is one of the most important steps when working in Ps.
@dktraveller83644 ай бұрын
Once you have selected a portion of your image then you can move, copy, modify etc that area with the many tools that Ps has to offer.
