Photoshop Tutorial - Design with Me - Creating Digital Papers - Part 1 in the series

Hello and welcome to my channel. Please make sure to like my video and subscribe to my channel as I will be adding videos regularly.
Photoshop, as well as other design platforms, can be quite intimidating. However, they can also be simple and easy to use. In this video series, I will give you step by step instructions on how to use Photoshop and Canva as well as giving you details on where to get your graphics from.
Some of these videos will be in a tutorial format; others will be a "design with me" format. In either format, you will be able to see exact details of how I use the different platforms.
I truly hope that this series will help you with your very own digital designs. If you have questions or need help, please do not hesitate to message me on here or send me an email at [e-mail].

I have three Long Haired Chihuahuas and a Golden. They are quiet most of the day, but they will bark when delivery people come to my house or my neighbor's houses and they bark when other dogs bark (sometimes). We have a lot of people who walk their dogs and if my dogs are in the living room, they will bark. That is what dogs do, they guard their homes and their pet parents. Dogs will be dogs, If your dogs were barking all night long, that would be one thing, but your dogs do not sound like they bark unnecessarily, they sound like good pups.

Hi Betty, I'm writing from Australia and absolutely love your channel. I am really interested in working with photoshop but being older and not IT savvy, I'm not too sure where to go. Explain the difference it makes to save as jpeg vs. png. -- how does it make a difference in the later use of the image? Thank you. -- so glad I found you and especially this series.-- I know there are others who teach this, but you speak my language. Ha

This is not the technical way of describing the difference, but I will tell you how I describe the difference-a jpg is like a solid image; a png is multiple images that make up one image. A png is easier to separate the different elements in the image when you want to edit.

I have Photopea which is very close to Photoshop and you were talking about having a fear with photoshop. I am getting used to the layers. Getting better. My biggest fear is not doing it the correct way and when I list it on Etsy someone buys it and maybe the measurements arent correct or something like that. Scares me to death lol.

I enjoy your Photoshop tutorials. I use Photoshop Elements on a laptop and I’m practicing some digital design. It’s a lot harder for me to grasp than I thought it would be. I just got a new iPad Air 4 so now my pen doesn’t work with it and I’d have to get a new pen. My laptop is starting to do things so you know how technology starts with little things so that you know it’s reaching the end of its lifespan and I was thinking about buying an external hard drive and then here you are with yours. What did you get? Is it an HHD or an SSD, I don’t want to spend a fortune but I want something that’s going to last. I need to put all my photos, many thousands, and all the digitals that I’ve bought and the digitals I’ve made, and the photos I’ve turned into PNG‘s to make digitals with. I have a bunch of them in my Amazon cart and trying to decide so if you recommend yours and like it if you could let me know what it is that would be great.

Yes, technology can be crazy at times. I purchased the WD Portable External hard drive from Office Depot. That one is 1 TB. I also purchased the the Small SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB Type-C Flash Drive to just tote around with me. (That's the one that Apple recommended on their site.) I have also utilized Dropbox so that I could have my files no matter which device I was on or where I was at when I needed to access the files. I hope that this helps in some sort of way--I feel like I was just rambling. LOL. Please let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.

@@BettysCustomDesigns thanks, I’m going to look into that little SanDisk one that you mentioned also. Part of what screwed up my laptop was Dropbox. Now I’m afraid of it. Apparently from all the videos that I’ve watched one of the things that could cause me to lose my start menu could be Dropbox related but I have not been able to fix it. I decided to use Dropbox just on a whim and half the things on my desktop disappeared and went into Dropbox, it took me forever to figure out how to get them back on my desktop, I should’ve never touched it because now my start menu doesn’t work and my search bar couldn’t be typed in, but I figured out how to get that back. Sometimes as much as I love technology it can be very frustrating.

I am starting to learn Photoshop Elements on the Graphics Fairy website (have to be a member). They have tutorials on basics and also many examples where you walk through creating pages, ephemera. Helped me to actually understand what she was doing and have the confidence to try things myself.
