CS5 is fine. Make sure you're working in 8-bit. Go to Image > Mode > 8 bits. What font are you using? Please send all replies and questions only to bluelightningtv@gmail.com.

William Surber...It sounds like the numbers of the settings in your Brush Presets are too high for the size &/or resolution of your document. Make sure your Brush is selected; not pencil. If you're still not getting the results you want, email me your PSD file to bluelightningtv@gmail.com, so I can take a look at it.

Could you please do this tutorial for CS6 extended version? I know how irritating it is but a good youtuber does what he is capable of, i messed up everything, the work path button was 4th from right, i did it all correct but it's when it's time for adding that brush effect in text at that time it wont work...

The problem is coming in right before I add the first stroke. I have followed the instrucitons to the letter as you have them but then I press OK on the stroke path(and Brush is selected) nothing is happening. I have ALL the numbers set to exactly what you have said. Does having CS5 make a difference?
