Photoshop VFX compositing with 3d render layers

This tutorial shows how to use render layers in order to enhance your visual artwork. The work focuses on rapid compositing using EXR exported passes and mix them to create own look&style in 2D. The advantage is obvious - instead of tuning for hours shaders and light, you get more details out of the topology and depth image information.

Why would you render a 32-Bit image if you downgrade it to 16-Bit afterwards? I mean, what's the advantage in starting with 32-Bit if you lose that information afterwards? I'm really confuse about the advantages of work with 32-Bit images.

you wont find any answer. We have been programming since a year on this matter, and only after going deep into Adobe SDK Code you can see many "wonderfull" exceptions and mysteries. :)
