His shots will maybe have a max amount he can have out at once like he has only 6 shots and can reload until he returns the cyrstals. If they pass through someone on the way back it could stun or even just explode for burst dmg. Something like that would be more dynamic and nothing we have played with before so if they do use the magnetic route I hope they add that little effect from Queen Knife.

One note is Phreaking with a Ph is a specific thing. It refers to recording and then using dial tones to hack phone networks for free long distance calling and was used during early dial-up internet to do similar network hacks

If the hero can create constructs out of crystals I wonder how they will function. Simply like Mei´s Ice-Wall or maybe having additional effects like attracting attacks? In the Concept-Art of "Phreak" one of their abilities was called "Attract" so imagine he creates a crystal which can not only block attacks but also attract them in a certain radius towards itself until it breaks. I find the idea of a hero utilizing crystals for combat pretty cool as they can be used offensively but also defensivly. I also came up with a possible ultimate which would be fitting for a Tank and the opposite to Mauga´s. Mauga´s Cagefight traps enemies and is stationary while blocking damage so what if the next Tank could create a big crystal-dome around themselves, protecting himself and his teammates while still being mobile? It would be useful to block attacks but also enable allies to use their ones without interruption. Of course it would be able to be destroyed as a countermeasure.

Attract works if they use the Vanadium since Vanadium is used in making superconductor magnets! Infusing a crystal wall with the stuff and its like a bullet attracting wall? Or projectile attractor only since hitscan would be hard to code to do that

Soldier´s ult works like this that everything in his visor circle get auto-locked so maybe they could programm it like that for Hitscan if the crystal.wall is in their LoS the Shot gets redirected, as I said before only when the shot is in a certain range.

I think you can already see Phreak on a pole poster in New junk city. There's an ad for fight between two junkers near one of the spawns, on your way to the point. One of those junkers have green hair, mechanical jaw and dark clothing, just like the doodle seen in venture's blizzcon teasers

I love these speculation videos. I hope future OW2 hero releases have more of these in-game teasers. It would be quite interesting if they weaponized the black goo substance and turn it into Splatoon where you drop the goo on the ground to form oil like patches that has some kind of effect on players passing over it. Something like getting players stuck in place if they are in it for too long or igniting it for dot burn damage and essentially creating area denial by positioning these strategically on the map surface...

I believe he will have some sort of crystal-firing cannon as primary weapon. In looks, he may be as you say, some sort of hybrid created by Moira. As seen in the spray-paintings on the wall, there is an hedgehog. And the profile frame teaser when venture and space-ranger got announced, he kinda of looks like an hedgehog with those spikes on the back. I think his ultimate will be similar to orisa's ultimate. Taking up some space, then firing those spikes or crystals on his back, like a frag grenade. He may even have a crystal frag grenade as an ability.

I think it would be cool if his primary fire was still just a gun, but his cooldowns used crystals. One could he defensive structure like ice wall, one could be a big crystal projectile, and he should be able to "shatter" the crystal abilities in order to create AOE damage after firing them.

When they teased Mauga he had bombs in his room that had nothing to do with his kit. I am leaning toward the crystals being appart of the story or a diffrent phreaks powers. Reason he really looks to be more like a turtle which ties into the reptile thing. However if they are his I would ague mabe its part of his ultimate cause I could imagin a turttle with purple shell spikes going inside his shell and launching crystals in every direction

There's a voice line interaction between Zarya and Moira. I can't think of exactly what is said but I know one of Zarya's replies are "you're the one making abominations" I wonder if phreak is one of these abominations? Also, I hope he's like a hedgehog or porcupine with these purple shards as his quills. Like the needler gun in Halo. His ult is he can shoot out quills/spears in a large radius.

The vanadium sounds a lot like the thing that is used in Arcane series, it's also that it makes stronger, mutates, makes addicting, I see potentially a lot of similar things in that concept. And I would love a hero an hero themed about crystal abilities, I'm excited to see what they have planned.

Maybe the crystals form in the palm of the character's hand, and they simultaneously pull their hand back and quickly thrust their arm forward as a way to "shoot" the projectile, it would look fucking sick and be a bit of a cool animation to have your character's arm and hand disappear out of your FOV with only a large sharp crystal being visible, only for it to immediately shoot forward at considerable speeds in just half a second

I would love for them to create a character from the phreaks faction for each class. Like a Reptilian support that has a acid ball primary fire similar to venture that acts similar to Ana's healing/damage shot and uses a shedding mechanic for self healing or maybe even a chameleon vibe like sombras stealth to get out of sticky situations that would last like 3-5 seconds as an escape.

There’s also a new spray within the current battle pass with what looks like Moira’s hand holding a vial with a mysterious liquid. The spray is also pretty similar to the graffiti left in the oasis lab/ underground club in Canada 🤔🤔

I think he will be able to make crystal barriers like mei, but likely just a single one instead of a wall. Would find it interesting if they exploded after a set time sending out smaller shards that hit enemies. So you could either use it defensively to hide behind or you can form it inside the enemy team offensively. Granted, putting it inside the enemy would also give them cover but at the risk of heavy damage if they stay there too long. As for his primary fire, I am seeing something like the needler in Halo. Stick so many shots on one target and they explode. But have a time limit on them. So to get the explosion, you have to be a good aim to get all shots stuck to the target. Or you can group them all on a wall or something and they explode there.

In the recently renovated Numbani airport, along with the Atlantic Arcology poster, there's one for Morocco. Considering how Blizzard is, either they're finished with the Atlantic Arcology and they're slowly shifting the teasing to Morocco, with one surprise map in between, or they need some more time and Morocco _is_ the surprise map in between. So either the map release schedule will go Atlantic Arcology -> ??? -> Morocco Or it will go Morocco -> Atlantic Arcology.

i think he could have like an emp type thing, because the flying things and the thing that was under the black ball had electricity coming out of it like an emp would do in like other games

It also seems the paint aspect has something to do with the characters build. Considering that the thing they stole was fluid and the crystals seem to grow from the splash on the wall.

Phreaks is a gang of mutants wich are human-like animals, hence the name "Phreaks". I believe the hero in question will be part reptile and part human

With there being 5 animals, it would be cool if this hint is not only a hint for the new upcoming tank. But a 5 set party that would match all the animal graffitis. It could be cool to towards the end of the story arc be able to play with friends as a full set a phreaks

Here are my predictions on the abilities: Primary fire: throw a spear-like crystal projectile that cannot headshot but has unlimited ammo, decent damage and a relatively slow fire rate Secondary fire: charge up to grow a crystal that can be thrown as a projectile, the higher the charge the faster, larger and more deadly the crystal becomes Ability 1: Sends planted crystals in a line in front of him that then uproot and stun/damage/slow/ignite enemies caught in it, can be destroyed to end negative effects earlier once crystals have uprooted Ability 2: form a blockade of crystals around you that converts damage taken into overhealth for nearby allies Ultimate: After a short charge-up where he is vulnerable, launches out an omni-directional volley of crystals that do massive damage to enemies hit [kind of like a mix of orisa and reapers ults] Passive: damage sustained by crystals will grant temporary overhealth

i just got an idea, imagine if you could place down some sort of crystal statue, and there's a small radius that pulls enemies in towards it, and once they touch it, it'll spread crystals all around the area, kind of like hogs pen, except it actively pulls you in if you go near; very interesting! cant wait for this character, im also hoping that the new tank will allow love for other tanks for a short period at least

I really want to see a "summon" character in overwatch and this could be a cool concept ! calling the phreaks to your side as your abilities (maybe like geeko in valorant ? or like the bastion kit in mirrorwatch)

I think the Phreaks are going to be the next line up of hero’s, because we saw multiple animals. I would like to think this one will be the dog, maybe the eel will be dps with some sort of hologram ability or electric based, and the snake being support as a venom and anti venom kind of like Ana’s bomb but more like a toxin
