A clear eyed ,clear worded ,intelligent woman of no pretense and doesn’t have to think before she speaks. Approaching 90 years old at this interview,incredibly riveting listening to her . I hope her children and grandchildren took advantage of her wisdom. What a different time in politics,her group brought homemade bread for friend and foe ,unfortunately that America is gone .

She was one of the original trad wives. Telling women to be traditional stay at home wives and mothers, the whole time she was anything but that.

Maybe make a timeline and see how you might be wrong. She never advocated women to not work when single or with grown children. She warned women that even though you can have everything, you can not have everything at the same time.
@SamShank1754 ай бұрын
At about 38 mins she starts talking about how easy life is now, but then literally a minute later, she says it's not possible to balance it all. Also, her husband was rich and she was not raising her children by herself, she had staff.

@robertpolanco1973 so she was "Dead Wrong" and at the same time, her detractors were just as right as her? That makes sense...lol. Ok so what do you actually disagree with?
@robertpolanco1973Ай бұрын
@@jjb69321 I disagreed with Schlafly on what the role of women should be and it cannot only be limited to the status of wives and mothers when they can be doing all kinds of work outside of domestic life. Her opposition to the ERA has remained a serious divisive issue for both men and women and I also know that only conservative fools want to limit women to being in a domestic environment and not outside of it. In other words, such limits on women do not really promote true equality, dignity, independence, and freedom. Furthermore, conservatives can often be such hypocrites when it comes to what constitutes freedom, dignity, and independence while not being into equal rights on the gender front. That is why I NEVER really trusted those conservatives who think they speak for the interests of certain people in general and with women in particular. Schlafly should have deserved absolutely NO CREDIBILITY whatsoever on the issues affecting the American people because she remained a conservative with a deep philosophical view of only THE PAST and NOT the future of humanity itself.

@@sydoftx How would it have crippled homemakers and family-oriented people? Passing the ERA does nothing to force people to do what they do not want to do. You can still be a homemaker regardless.
