It is a pity you didn't explain why ketones to a few carbon atoms, have a higher boling point than aldehydes, is there a clear expanation of this somewhere? 'Cause on most forums I read, people were just speculating and weren't too convincing.

Just wondering if what you were saying about the partially negative oxygen of a ketone being attracted to the partially positive carbon of another molecule also applies to aldehydes. In aldehydes do the dipole dipole bonds also form between oxygen and carbon??

Why ketones have higher b.pt than aldehyde although both have dipole-dipole interactive forces ?
