Thanks, I'm getting my associates now. I've been a personal trainer for 5 years and this is the next step in my journey to expertise in the human movement systems.

First off I’d just like to start by saying thank you for making this video! The info is very informative and accurate. I am currently a PTA student and have just 1 semester left. In Massachusetts (greater Boston area) my schooling costs roughly $14k, maybe another $1000 in books, and that’s it! As for covid the only PTA’s that have struggled are some and I emphasize “some” outpatient physical therapy clinics that were closed at the beginning of covid. It was for maybe 1-2 months and now they are all back to operating with good outlooks even if it spikes again. PTA’s that work inpatient care (hospitals, nursing facilities, acute care centers, etc) all had job stability during covid. The schooling is the hardest I’ve ever attempted in my life, but it’s totally doable and once you find your rhythm you will love it. I’m beyond excited to graduate and work outpatient rehab starting July 2021. Thanks to this video I now have better insight on where job demand and high pay areas are. Thank you!

North shore community college in Danvers, MA. If this career tract interests you and you want more options another great degree is occupational therapy assistant. Basically the same idea as a PTA But for an occupational therapist.

Definitely! Will be really interesting to see next year's numbers. Hopefully, corona hasn't impacted them too much.

Hi I've been thinking about becoming a PTA! Do you know of any risks to the profession? For example, laws that would restrict the growth/salary of PTAs?
@CareerWatch3 жыл бұрын
I am not aware of any. No AI/automation affects it in our lifetime (in my opinion). If anything, laws would encourage more growth.
@NubSlayerXD3 жыл бұрын
@@CareerWatch Ok thanks I was asking because I heard of some law for Medicare or something and I couldn't really understand the video but the mood seemed to be bad for PTAs

If you are a graduate of physical therapy without the doctorate degree will you be able to work as a physical therapy assistant or do you still need to study?
@CareerWatch4 жыл бұрын
The barrier is the license. A state has to license before you can begin work. So even if you take coursework and graduate, you still have to get that license.
@taajbarnett29764 жыл бұрын
How do you become a physical therapist without a doctor degree? I never seen that at any school program. DPT is the minimum to a PT because they are doctors 🥼.

Coming from a current PTA student: the only PT’s that are working without a Doctorate degree are ones that are grandfathered in. For example if someone got a masters of PT in 1995 they can still practice as a PT. In the early 2000’s it changed to a doctorate and from there out you can not become a PT without a doctorate.
