Not sure if you’re aware of Patrong’s channel he’s and urgent care PA that started out in the ER. He started at $100 an hour in his first position, so he made over 200k for his first job. And working at urgent care with a night differential and a bit of overtime still makes around that much yearly. So awesome to see medical professionals being paid so well. It’s definitely well deserved

Hello trevon, it's possible to make that kind of money for a PA? It's just a question because I'm making some PA salary research because I'm very interested in become a PA, I'm a foreign medical graduate who want to practice as a PA in the US, so I want to know if you could tell me how much can do a orthopedic PA, because that's my favorite speciality, by the way thanks for answer me this question, hope you have a very good day. Peace be to you Adanna The PA! Your videos just keep getting BETTER! 😃I like the "little cartoon" you- that's cool! If you don't mind me adding my "two cents", Hospitalist PA s are becoming a highly sought-after position. There is a shortage of doctors in this area and, Residents have been able to truncate the super long hour they have traditionally worked in some places. Hospitalist PA salaries tend to range from $110,000 to $130,000 (about $45 to $65/hour respectively). This does NOT include sign-on and quarterly bonuses. Of course, there are out-liers (as low as $92,000 but as high as $200,000). Any PA who wants to pursue this specialty HAS to be ready to GRIND!😥😬Ways to make yourself into an exceptional and highly sought-after Hospitalist PA, are as follows: 1)Become VERY good at running codes (ACLS knowledge WITH skills), 2) Get good at techniques (PICC, mid and femoral line placement, intubation, chest tube, etc.), 3) Have a VERY good understanding of Pathophysiology, Clinical Chemistry, and disease management 4) Be a team player! Respect the knowledge of your healthcare team mates (PT, OT, RT, SLP, RN, NPs ,etc.), 5) Learn to effectively engage and educate patients and their family members about their conditions, 6) Know when to consult your Supervising Physician and/or specialist docs, 7) take the CAQ Hospitalist specialty exam once you have enough years of experience and CMEs . There are additional ways. However, I think this is a good start. I REALLY enjoy being a Hospitalist! It's not for everyone though! Keep up the WONDERFUL work you are doing. May the good Lord continue to bless you and your beautiful family!😊

The thing that frustrates me regarding NP school is that you have to specialize, you would think the lobbyist for NPs would want them to have more movement laterally, PAs can move laterally without having to go back for more schooling. Unfortunately, since I do not have any healthcare experience I'll be going the BSN to NP route. Not that I wouldn't enjoy being a nurse I think I will really enjoy the profession just wish I did not have to go back to get a bachelors and then grad school.

@AdannaThePA
@AdannaThePA 4 жыл бұрын
2-3yrs depending on the if you're in a dual degree program or not, or 5-6yrs if you're completing a direct entry program straight from high school.

Thank you for your response! could a PA practice Anesthesia even though CRNAs dominate the area or would that make them a AA instead. I ask because I'm interested in becoming a PA but I would love to either surgery or anesthesia.

Hello!!! I’m interested in being a PA and still working towards my associates. Do you think it’s a good idea to major in Spanish and philosophy and minor in accounting? I’m a little confused as to what the prerequisites are for PA school. Thank you.

@t.g.5058 5 жыл бұрын
leesly B It’s really up to you and what the PA program you’re interested in requires. The PA program I’m interested in requires a BS or BA in any field, so my non-science BS and minor aren’t really an issue, however if I could do it all over again, I would get a BS in some sort of science like biochem or physiology, and minor in psychology and Spanish. I think everything you’ve mentioned has the potential to help your career, but you should be strategic with these things, so give it some thought, and see what the requirements are for the PA program you want to get into are, then align that with your personal education goals.

Aren’t Pathology PA’s not Physician Assistants? I think they’re “PA’s” as in Pathology Assistants which is similar in education as PAs, but specialized in education towards pathology. I might be wrong.

I had no idea that PAs could be in pathology because I thought it was its own specialized field (master degree level) like what Justin wrote. I was told PAs would have a very hard time finding a job in the pathology field by a PA. Could you do a video on this ?
