Hello Adanna, I was wondering once you finish Didatic and enter Clinicals, do you have to go through a physical and medical clearance? If so what does that entail? Has anyone every been refused and what would be a reason or reasons why?

#1 Patient Care Experience #2 Do a comparison chart #3 Take the GRE seriously #4 Improve Prerequisites #5 Have a strong Personal Statement #6 Shadow a PA #7 Be open/flexible/adventurous in terms of school locations Bonus Tip: if you can’t find a PA to shadow . . . sacrifice and go the distance to find one. There might not be one in your area but going to find one would look very good.

Hey Adanna , can you make a video talking about the mistakes you made during your previous application cycles and if those mistakes contributed to you not getting in and if not what did you do differently the last time you applied as opposed to the previous times. You videos are awesome, motivating and very informative.

I've sent numerous applications to PA Schools and didn't get accepted. (Clarification on the reason is stated below). From my own personal experience, as a result of doing poorly in my classes over 20 years ago when I first attended college, that record has attributed to my lower Cum GPA and Sci GPA. Though I graduated from college (second time) with a cum laude, military duty, and personal statement addressing my career change from Engineering to Healthcare, great recommendations, even patient response and other co-workers in my healthcare journey, when talking to those in PA Admissions my application is disregarded because of the CASPA calculation of my GPA not meeting requirements, again holding my college GPA from over 20 years ago as a "felony". :( I would say those are great points in this video, but the GPA is your gateway to having your application even forwarded to the PA Team to look at for a possible interview. In other words. LOL Unfortunately you could have cured cancer, won a nobel peace prize, had recommendations from physicians, medical professionals, etc..but if your GPA is not even at the minimum and even in those circumstances much higher than that, its likely you will get a rejection. :( CASPA is a "cookie cutter" approach to applications in regards to GPA. The case where you have the ability, drive, passion, but not the opportunity as a result of a GPA acquired over 2 decades ago.

Damn, that must be hard. Have you ever thought of doing a postbacc?

@georgecrawford68695 жыл бұрын
If you are a Christian, pray asking God if PA School is His will for your life at this time. If it is, then ask God to tell you when and were to apply and then finally start praising God in advance as you prepare to apply. Prayer is the greatest time saver. I recognize this advice is unusual but if you diligently seek God with all your heart, you will be surprised what can be accomplished.
@jennnx63755 жыл бұрын
Look into schools that look at the last 60 units or use the holistic method and only apply to those, it doesn’t make sense to apply to schools that you don’t meet the minimum requirements for.

When you volunteer for patient experience, how do you track that? Do you just write it down? Is there an official form? Do you have to get something signed for proof?? How do they know you aren’t lying about it!
@ancestorbackforthelasttime5 жыл бұрын
Growing Stones the hospital has you fill out paperwork after you’ve discussed the hours you need, etc. every time you do your volunteer hours they have you either sign in or call in to a number where they can track your hours.

When you started clinicals did you get paired with other classmates? or were you by yourself? o.0
@AdannaThePA5 жыл бұрын
I was always by myself because I did all of my rotations out of state. As for my classmates they would sometimes be with other students in the cohort. It's all dependent on the number of sites a schoo has.

I honestly can't say. I would say ask the program you're interested in. If I were to make a guess i would say no because they may not view it as truly healthcare related.

Would Donny be willing to share his email address so I could ask questions. I’m interested in getting a MPH and PA degree and I noticed Donny has both. I know there are dual degree programs but I’m in a position where I most likely won’t get in. However I’m a lot more likely to get into a MPH program right after college then hopefully get into PA school.
