Hi from Cape Town South Africa. I just bought your book and WOW is all I can say. It has turned everything I thought I knew on it's head! I'm 69 years old and have been on every diet known to man, including Keto. Nothing really lasted, particularly because it excluded my favourite foods, namely carbs. I'd lose some weight and pick it all up again. I have Type 2 diabetes and was told to follow a low carb diet - hell!! I started following your plan yesterday and am so excited to see the results. THANK YOU for all your work and research in providing this amazing information. I love cooking and can't wait to try out all your recipes.

I suffered from metabolic syndrome (obesity, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and high blood sugar). I went whole food plant based no sugar oil or salt and I lost 65 pounds, all my conditions greatly improved, my gums stopped bleeding, and erections and energy returned. I used to have an appetite that was never satisfied; whole foods cured it. I no longer use a sleep apnea machine. Finally, the food is cheap-Beans, lentils, rice, potatoes and seasonal apples. I also save money by not having to buy pills and visit the Doctor. I am thankful to all the vegans who suffered attacks to reveal the truth to me.

It was 18 months from going vegan to the point where I no longer felt that my metabolism was off. After the first six months my A1c was back in the normal range, but it was another year before normal eating maintained my weight and overeating and only overeating led to weight gain. I was relieved to finally not have the sudden 5 pound unexplainable weight gain when I seemed to have eaten nothing…

How do the muscle cells function if there's no glucose getting in cuz of all the fat in there?

I am a new diabetic and I asked myself the same question. Now, I wonder how to get it answered.
@signmeupruss8 ай бұрын
Hi, again. What I've found. The GLUT4 transport mechanism allows glucose to move into muscle cells in response to both insulin and exercise. So, normal body movement will allow glucose into the cell. Something else, which I did not know, is that a lot of body tissues do not need require insulin to function(kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWe1iJRon9KCetE).

He actually said to find LeLeche or something similar that can help you learn what to do and how to help with those things. He also said breast feeding is best if at all possible, and in some cases it isn't. I think you may just be too close to the subject to willingly HEAR him properly. I had many issues 30 ears ago so I understand your pain, but he wasn't speaking down or mansplaining.
