Andrew, recently i have gone into a deep depression that was hard to get out of. One day it just hit me and i couldn't get out of bed. Sometimes i tried but i realized that if i do get out of bed nothing will happen. For a while my friends tried to help me but nothing seemed to work. Eventually even the medication i was using didn't seem to work. It was a long lonely road but you really helped me get out of it. One morning my friend came over and started streaming your meme reviews to the TV. It was so bad i had to get out of bed to turn my TV off. Thank you Andrew for helping me get through a rut in my life. :)

Probably because you were too uneducated to understand that the pi is just the name we have given to a Greek letter. So really, it is perfectly valid for the Greek symbol of pi to equal 5 in the same sense theta = 4, alpha = 6, x = 2 or y = -69 because pi is just a letter.

I'm pretty sure that when a star begins to fuse iron, the process of fusing is an endothermic reaction, whereas nuclear fusion of hydrogen, helium, carbon, oxygen, neon, magnesium, and silicon are all exothermic reactions... so when a star runs out of everything but iron, it supernovas, or not...depending on the mass of the star, but supernovae are the popular assumption because they're more interesting lmao

Wait how is iron the last thing made in stars? What about other elements past Fe; where do they come from? Or is it that when Fe is the most readily available substance to fuse then it becomes unsustainable for the star and it dies but there has been the formation of other elements throughout the life of a star?
@aadityavardhannarayan81415 жыл бұрын
So the iron nucleus is supposed to be the most stable and hence iron would not fuse again to form something heavier. This is because its nucleus has the most binding energy per nucleon, and I think that's because its at iron's mass number where the number of neutrons is great enough to produce the greatest amount of nuclear force, while the proton number is low enough to not still affect each other. If the proton number increases then the neutrons eventually reach a point where they cannot counter the repulsion making the nuclei unstable. And iron is the element which strikes that balance. Correct me if I'm wrong:/
@GainsGoblin5 жыл бұрын
@@aadityavardhannarayan8141 I can't correct you because I don't know. The only thing that your post doesn't tell me is how other elements are formed if they aren't from the stars.
@aadityavardhannarayan81415 жыл бұрын
@@GainsGoblin Basically they're formed in supernovae I'm pretty sure that iron is the most stable. On that note, extremely high energies are required to fuse element to form elements heavier than iron. Throughout the lifetime of a star, nothing heavier than iron can be formed. Hence, after a star dies, and its gravitational force overcomes the outward pressured caused by the energy released to fusion, really high pressure and energy conditions are formed. This leads to the fusion of lighter elements to form most of the elements in the periodic table that are heavier than iron.
@GainsGoblin5 жыл бұрын
@@aadityavardhannarayan8141 Right, yes. I thought that we were discussing of all the stages of life stars. That is the supernova is the last stage of a star where as what we were discussing is one of the early stages of a star.
@aadityavardhannarayan81415 жыл бұрын
Simon bastin oh that’s my bad.... When I read “in” I automatically thought about the fusion inside the core. Technically a star’s death is part of a star’s life cycle, which means, by those standards, all elements are formed in the star’s life cycle. Sorry about the confusion...
