Piaggio Liberty S 50cc vs 150cc - What it's like to live with these scooters!

I have the Liberty 150cc. LOVE IT! Great acceleration and speed on highways as well as being nimble to get around the back streets of Brooklyn NY, which I use for work getting to my schools and gigs on weekends, every single day. I went for Piaggio as it’s way cheaper than Vespa, and with Piaggio being the parent company for Vespa, I knew I was getting a great bike. I did have to get a motorcycle license in NYC to ride it, but as the guy in this video says, anything over 50cc in New York State needs a motorcycle license. Well worth it for the extra oomph. Dude didn’t tell you anything more than most classic reviews of this bike, but I can say I usually spend less than USD$5 a week on gas with this bad boy! Crazy!! And in New York, parking a car is a nightmare.. but with the Liberty, I can park it in so many places - brilliant! I bought a top box too for extra storage and to put my full face lid. Well worth it. I also bought a large windscreen directly from a company in Italy (much cheaper than the Piaggio option), that I highly recommend. It keeps you warmer during the winter months and protects from wind and anything flying at you during the summer! It’s a great looking bike and I get a lot of comments riding around town. What is the best way to lower the 150 S for a 28" inseam without butchering the seat?

I'm not sure. I've seen some pretty short people ride these. Maybe the answer isn't to lower the seat, but just to see if you can find a way to get comfortable riding it? I'm not sure.

Here is a dumb answer, take the air out of the tires!, sorry couldn't let it go by, good luck ..also maybe thicker soled footwear could help.

50cc is fine for the city. Many people around the world have a 50cc for city use. If you have a license that allows for a larger scooter, and the budget for a 150cc, that will open up a much larger world of two wheeled fun for you. But I started on a small scooter, and you'd be amazed at how far I was able to take that scooter!

Up to about 100 km/h (maybe a bit over) for the 150cc. In town use only for the 50cc, depending on rider weight, don't expect much over 60 km/h on that one.

@@PeterLoweOne 6:38 you mention it has front wheel ABS over rear wheel and the reason it's front is probably for cost cutting when in fact, the front wheel is the most important in braking, as you mention later on (6:48 you say the front wheel is the one that will throw you down if it locks up). I think that is the point he was trying to make.
