Piaggio MP3 530 Tilt Lock System Explained

The Piaggio MP3 does a lot but one thing it doesn’t do is stand up on its own while riding. Please consider this before buying.

I just bought a Piaggo MP3. It does stand up alone anytime you switch on the stableizer switch. You can do it at a red light if you want. Not just when you park. I do agree however that the bike is very heavy. A lot heavier than I knew before I bought it.

Yeah, if you are in control of the machine, it will stand at a red light and if you’re decent rider you can even flip the switch as you slow down to the red light and never put your feet down. But the point of this video is that the majority of people who come looking at these think they stand up all the time and they literally will just fall over in their driveway (we’ve seen this too many times), thinking the bike will hold them up. The manual says ,,do not release the lock with throttle. Use the tilt shift switch again, then throttle to avoid abrupt movement,, And only use it when parking instead of every stoplight helps it last longer without failing. Italian electronics are below normal in terms of quality and endurance. My 2 year old mp3 500 had a broken seatlock, and dead battery within a few weeks of buying it. I do love it though. Got a dashcam and akrapovic exhaust on it and unique reflective tape art😊 the one with koi,dragon and a autobots logo.

You can lock it at under 5mph as you come to a stop it’s very convenient for those of us with permanent spinal injuries who still want to ride but don’t want to spend can am or Harley trike$$$$ at 11k that’s not too bad for all you get

I know now because I purchased a used Piaggio mp3 250IE and I have bad knees 😊 that's why I decided to get Amigo Dragster 200cc Trike next year but I will keep this bike for incase someone want try ride it!!

I ride one you look for a flashing yellow light engage tilt lock when travelling at under 5mph, I've spent days riding these not need to put feet down if you are experienced using the feature

That is all true, but most riders don’t feel comfortable getting to that point and certainly not brand new ones who think that this bike is always going to stand up every moment of the ride. Thanks for watching.
