His playing is so dynamic and unpredictable. Nobody tickles those ivory's like our Prince. If I could be 1/8 as good as him one day I would be a happy happy man.

This is the kind of stuff I wish his Estate would release. We really don’t need another remixed of Purples Rain. We all already have that album.
@ACNuem Жыл бұрын
The Estate should release much more, then they did... eye think there is stuff enough for centuries - eye work in a recordstore (wrekastow) and eye know, there are a few "new" releases by Jimi Hendrix and a lot by Elvis Presley each and every year.

They could make collections of outtakes, rehearsals and concerts which lasted for years and they would be extremely interesting. I want complete anthologies, no more remixes and deluxe versions.

What you fail to realize is that Prince is indeed still alive. He’s alive in U. Just think about it. Remember when he came out with that symbol. When you saw it, you automatically thought of him, if you knew him and his music, didn’t you? Well now, it should be comforting to know that when ever you think of him or that symbol, he will always be with you.. Therefore, Prince is alive in U 🕊🌿

In terms of sheer musicianship I can only think of Stevie Wonder in the same breath - his only other rivals are some of the greats from the world of Jazz - Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson but these guys aren't multi instrumentalists. Donald Fagen and Walter Becker of Steely Dan would be hosting the dinner party as I cannot think of a more gifted pair of songwriters. But Prince just wows in every way and across all genres. What an artist. It's just so sad that has left us. Unparalleled in the last 75 years

The first piece is Computer Blue. I’m surprised no one recognizes that purple rain era masterpiece.
@denrico7774 жыл бұрын
It's actually fathers song, which had the same melodies as computer blue.
@RonBailey-dt4ie8 ай бұрын
@@denrico777 Yeah, that was kind of the point of the story at that point, that he was incorporating his troubled father's music into his own troubled world at that point, and when he was more recovered and evolved he was open to incorporating music from his colleagues (supposedly) with Wendy/Lisa's Purple Rain outtake. Say what you want about that movie, the music really does tell the story.

Well, it has been a whole year since you asked the question and no one has given it even a guess. It is somewhere in the vault with a name or it may have never been titled because he didn't find a home for it on an album. But it is beautiful. I'm sure it was inspired by someone or some experience that he had. All of his music was about his life. Along with his hard work and his amazing talent, was his ability to express his life out of his continuous,, subconscious, stream of thoughts and emotions, and was why he was so prolific.

This can be anyone. Nothing here to indicate that it's a rehearsal of any kind. No others, no singing, no Prince. Beautiful piano playing but not rehearsal type playing. Rehearsal playing is how it will be played during a show. Whoever this is has great skills, don't need to hide
@C.L_ラブリーリタ8 ай бұрын
Piano Rehearsal at Sunset Sound Studios, 6650 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028, by The Man himself on february 7, 1984. comment by Peggy McCreary, His recording engineer from 1982-1986: PEGGY MCCREARY ON PIANO REHEARSAL AT SUNSET SOUND (2-7-1984): “IT WAS COMMON FOR PRINCE TO LOOK FOR INSPIRATION BY SITTING AT THE PIANO AND JUST PLAYING WHATEVER CAME TO MIND.” Great skills indeed. Thanks

you can really hear it is prince himself. it is really crammed with prince-marks, within these ten or so basic melodies, you can recognise countless pieces of the prince-repertoire emerging from the musician's subconcious. the line-up of prince-marks is too spontanious to have been done by anyone else but him.
@tedmontana27452 жыл бұрын
Prince is not a great piano player.... But he is very creative... Sometimes more important
@hevmadeit93542 жыл бұрын
The piano, like any instrument is designed to evoke feeling and emotion. It is a tool of communication, not precision for the sake of accuracy. A great piano player, like Prince is and was, can make you feel things through the instrument and his talent alone. He is and was a great pianist and artist overall.
@matrox2 жыл бұрын
I never liked Prince's Pop music or singing, but he is a hell of a musician player on guitar, bass, keyboards and drums.
