Let's take a step back and ponder. How could any human being be this good on the piano and simultaneously, be as good or better on the guitar? And, if that's not enough, be damn near as good on the bass, on the drums, and on other instruments? No one could humanly practice that much! Which proves beyond any shadow of doubt, Prince was a gifted gift God gave to the world.

This truly made me cry. Prince wore his heart on his sleeve on stage. He lived, breathed and slept his craft. This recording will evoke powerful emotions not just in Princes's most ardent fans but musicians alike like myself. As a jazz/soul singer Prince has been a constant inspiration. He cared about his audience and the man was laid bare I think through his music. This is/was Prince Rogers Nelson. Romantic, visionary, deep, thoughtful, showman, and totally connected to life and love and of his craft and spirituality. He was love.
@agt5jx87 Жыл бұрын
Prince, man oh man. Susan Rogers said Prince was very proficient at each instrument he played and that was why he could record so much music. This is a perfect example of what she was talking about. This is perfect playing. He's calm, collected, efficient. The lines are clear and always interesting. Soulful. Patient. Truly impressive.

Father's song is part of Computer Blue slowed down at the top, Beautiful! I loved it then, but now realize what a Blessing it was to experience him LIVE so many times. There's only so much that can be told. That lives on in my heart, all of them, but during Purple Rain he only toured 6 months when his label wanted another year, but he was already on the next album. I asked my mom & she said no. I cried then called my dad. He promised he'd get me the tickets. He did & it was the last gift he gave me. He died about 2 weeks later. The concert was the next month 2 days before my dads birthday. I had great seats! During the intro to Purple Rain when you could hear a pin drop, I started screaming Prince I love you & he looked right at me & said I Love You Too Baby! One of the Best moments of my Life. I'll never forget my dad going out of his way to get me the tickets just knowing how much I love Prince & Prince saying He loved me too. I just thought about this again a few days ago on my dads birthday. Now, I miss them both.💖🎶💖

The first time I saw him live was in Denver, they premiered Under the Cherry Moon in Cheyenne, WY the night before (MTV contest). We were late but 1st there was no pot smell wafting but Prince was playing Do me baby on a grand, every person there was in his pocket like no other performer. A few years later I saw the first 2 shows of the Lovesexy tour in Minneapolis, not only was he peeking in popularity, he was musically as well and his beloved hometown. I saw Prince 5 times with 4 different bands, all of them were outstanding. I've seen lots of bands,1000's even Elvis and none of them are even close. As Bobby Z said recently "he sat down at the piano and from his mind to his fingertips music poured out" as evidenced by the VAULT. And a shit load of it in 5 inch heels, how about that gentlemen!!!

Prince was an amazing pianist. I like how he hunts down the melodic scale after he hits a bad note. It's like he is trying to make sure he knows where to go next. His playing style is very unique. He combines alot of harmonic patterns as he finds the melody he likes. I have been listening to this over and over and each time I hear something new that I didn't notice before about what he was doing. I have to keep practicing to get better and for sure work on my scales.
@jasperhalco8713 жыл бұрын
Like Miles Davis said "there's no such thing as a 'bad' note - it all depends on whatever note you play NEXT after it" . I think Prince clearly understood this as well, as his playing is so fluid and if something unexpected happens he explores it ... weaves it along into whatever he's playing

For Prince to be what he actually was, a Da Vinci-like genius, a colourful wizard who could play his magic on so many paths, he had to be extraordinary in twenty different things (dancing, composing, engineering, playing dozens of instruments, creating coreographies and all the details of his fabulous on/offstage persona...) and I love it this way. But have you ever thought about Prince dedicating all his talents, 24/7 to ONE thing? He might have reached an unconceivable level of greatness. I prefer Prince being what he was, but sometimes I wonder about this...
