Arrau forever! This theme by Handel is one of the most beautiful ever, Brahm's variations on it are among the most beautiful ever but Arrau's rendition here is definitely at the top of all recordings in Classical music. Its balance, softness with power, singing melodies, it all blows me away - and I've heard a lot of its recordings, and of others as well. Thanks for bringing him back to me with this magic piece.

@@dorabellar.8326 Aha. You know best. That's why he was the pianist of his time with the most competition wins and a favourite with audiences and recording companies around the world. But you're right: he can't dance - he's dead, that's one thing. And when he was alive, he didn't have to dance: he was a pianist, you know, one of the greatest. But you're entitled to think otherwise... whatever...

In my opinion, Arrau's interpretation of this piece is by far the most natural and convincing one.
