I love this band so much-my brother used to listen to Generator^First Floor all the time, and I soon fell in love with Freelance Whales. I only began listening to their other songs (besides Generator^First Floor and Generator^Second Floor) in the last two months or so, and I can't get over how incredibly beautiful all of their music is

Big FW fan here. If you feel this way, try giving Page France a listen. Specifically “Hello, Dear Wind” is a good album to start with. It is so beautiful it cripples me. Songs like Chariot, Dogs, Goodness, Feather, Trampoline, etc

i went from not knowing Freelance Whales to being intimately familiar with them in a compressed amount of time about 5 years ago: i was at a friend's house in the forest and the few friends there left with this album playing on repeat. I was focusing on taking apart an old digital camera, trying to fix it but knowing I'd most likely just end up with a bunch of neat looking pieces. after the first listen i really didn't like it, but I just sat there for 3-4 hours tinkering and was too engrossed to get up to turn it off. by the end i was totally in love with it. this is my favorite song on the album.

This is literally one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard in my entire life. Up there with the Ode To Joy chorus and Untitled 3 by Sigur Ros. This song is about life after death from what I see. If this is death, then I can die happy.

@Unknownsage13 nah it's a banjo. i've played bluegrass all my life and heard a lot of banjo. compare it to other banjo music. its got kind of a twangy, percussive sound. and i know freelance whales uses a banjo frequently, you can even see it in the video for "ghosting".
